The supports never get the spotlight...
...never ever.
Reminds me of a recent match.
I was Leona. Paired up with Miss Fortune.
In the laning phase, I netted her four easy kills on the enemy team. We proceeded to snowball the lane pretty hard. Miss Fortune gets the spotlight. Everyone lauds her for being the greatest ADC ever! No one notices my contributions, but I don't mind. As a support, I'm used to it. I'm not here for the glory. I'm just here to play my part.
Then, here comes a fight over dragon! MF gets out of position. I charge in to try to save her. We both die. In hindsight, this was a misplay on my part. I should have just left her.
Team instantly flames me for the mistake, and proceeds to blame me for everything else bad that happens during the match. It doesn't matter what I do. It doesn't matter if I'm even involved. If something goes awry, it was, by default, my fault.
Team forfeits at 20.
Next match, Miss Fortune invites me to another game. She confides in me that she's utterly perplexed why the team was bashing me the whole match, as I'd singlehandedly won her the lane. This match, we proceed to snowball again, and win hard.
Moral of the story?
It doesn't matter if you're the best support ever. You'll only get the bad kind of spotlight from your team. But if you try hard, and you're lucky, your ADC may notice you.

And sometimes your Diamond jungler calls you a Janna god after you rescue him with 50 health.

Had a similar scenario a while back as Braum.
Brain dead and near dead Jinx tower dives. I managed to get in just barely quick enough to steal tower agro. Manage to wall off both Sona and Ezreal ults. Enemy double kill. Enemy Kha shows up. Ult him out of his jump, Q him. He switches to me. I die. Jinx triple kill. Enemy Sona, enemy Kha, and allied mid all give Jinx credit.
Rest of the game pretty much followed that pattern. That Jinx made me work my @$$ off.
I main support. I don't ask for much. But... really!?
And this is why people think supports don't do jack.
Enemy taking first dragon
Me as 
casually runs over and throws a tornado through the wall, killing the enemy Zed and the dragon. The enemy Blitz and Ezreal run after me, run into our Ezreal and Shaco. I throw shields around and launch another tornado into the center of the fight. I kill Ez and Blitz, our Ez kills the enemy Vi.
Everyone congratulates our Ez for saving the day.
I hate this support circlejerk so much.
People notice it if I do a great job and tell it.
Stop acting like supports are some little league martyrs.
I started playing Janna in earnest after I had to support a Twitch one time. Dude didn't connect in until about 7 minutes in to the game, which I couldn't do jack about. But I didn't really mind, cuz Twitch is a late gamer anyway. He gets back and I patiently support him while he catches up in farm, while keeping our bot lane warded so he can farm safely. I save him 3 times from hungry midlaners and junglers, made a couple of really damn good tornadoes that saved us both, ulted one guy over the wall who was gonna murder us.
After, about another 10 minutes and he has his BoRK, he says to me "are you aphro lol". I didn't even care that we lost that game, it was nice to know I was appreciated by my ADC for a change. Now Janna is one of my main supports.
Yeah, had a game where I was playing my heart out. Saving lives left and right. Then the whole team "Janna do something, your so worthless" People only notice hooks and grabs

Well that's clearly because all ADC's are gods and just like Doublelift and lowly supports like us don't deserve the spotlight.

I've got so good adc's telling me I was a very good support too. All that the adc did was because of me but yeah, I got so bad ones too that tower dive for example, blame me. Going in the jungler without ward, died blame me. XDD
I am just laughing hard.
When I am adc tough and the support hiding behind me the whole lane phase, I am like: why ? I said nothing but how can I win lane in this context ? I got, as an adc, some supports that blame me too for every mistakes that I make.
Yep, I've seen the two sides of the medal. XD

...like she did shit.
On the other hand, an Ezreal called me GOD because i interrupted thresh's lantern mid flight to lockdown Jinx. take that.
Happens every game...not like you can ever kill the adc Janna supports.
The thing with Janna is that you can't even prove that you did ANYTHING this game because in charts you'll have the least dmg dealt, laughable amount of healing and your shields don't count for shit in the charts.
if i were that mf i would be like, "janna saved me, made that possible."
