Anyone know why the anime industry have been pushing out the same story over and over again?

Guy goes to a battle school

Guy ends up dueling one of the most powerful female student at said school

Guy beats said female either because he is special or because he accidentally violates her

Guy ends up with a harem

Over and over and over again every season

Why? Q_Q

They ran outta ideas a long time ago :P that's basicly Highschool DxD and Madoka Box in a nutshell ( plenty more then just those two )

Because it sells.

The anime industry has been struggling to stay afloat for a long time, so they endlessly pump out awful-to-mediocre moe/ecchi/harem/wish-fulfillment crap because they know die-hard otaku/hikikomori will buy the blu-rays and figurines. They've broken it down to a science. They intentionally use as many cliche and stereotypical characters as possible to appeal to as many otaku as they possibly can.

People are afraid to take risks and try making something new and unique because their studios could go under. It's tragic.

Because recycling the same stupid plot is easy and marketable.

I mean really, sure the story already exists, but why would you look up an older work when you can get a newer work that's more "up to date with the modern world."

I can respect when a creator is trying to do what they want, hell nothing is really original anymore (what matters is how we tell it). But when it's basically a play by play of every other manga/comic out there, then I have to wonder how you could get this published when there are thousands of other artists are putting their heart and soul into something with some more original ideas that the general populace would at least find interesting.

But it's a business. And businesses are better known for playing it safe (rather than taking risks like in fictional businesses).
