I'll never forget the one time I saw a Varus go full AP, so I told him AD would be a better build. He got utterly pissed and challenged me to a 1v1 as Ryze because he owned a game as Ryze.

Problem was he owned a bot game. Xerath <---- (me)

Kicked the shit out of him. Whoever got to 3 kills was the winner. He lost. Terribly.

As a Xerath main, I pity Ryze players I go up against because they feel what I do when I'm up against LB.

That being said, full AP Varus is fine and is a better carry than AD Varus, I'd honestly say AP Varus should be bot lane and AD Varus should be mid, and not the other way around.

With S6 changes coming around, now his ulti makes AP Varus even more scary.

The problem is AP Varus's build path. It goes something like this BT > Runaan's > Lich Bane > Last Whisper > Nashor's Tooth > Berserker's Greaves > Sell everything and buy full AP items
