I'd say 50% of the high elo community mains Thresh. The other 50% mains Vayne.

because all of the 7 year olds want to do all of the damage and 1v5 the enemy team

never works out for them, they just feed

To my knowledge, Supports, Junglers, and ADC's are the most sought after for the most part. It's actually kind of funny finding lobbies as support. Since you have plenty of other options than the one you were matched into, you can easily pick and choose which lobby you join for a better team comp. I should know, I do this quite a bit.
