If you are not purchasing anything, you get tokens through missions.
If you get the World's Pass, you will get tokens for each game you play, as well as FWOD. So as to not make the Pass irrelevant and worthless if you purchase it at a later date, it keeps a total of how many tokens you WOULD have earned if you had the pass, and awards them retroactively (barring the FWOD tokens) if you buy the pass anytime after the event begins. Please read the event details before getting outraged at something they've explained.

still didn't get it. I have to buy it to claim tokens get through missions or not? when i press this "claim tokens" button it sends me to the shop and nothing else happens
(I'm poor af and don't want to spend money on this crappy game tho)
