Doesn't really seem like a valid reason to hate something.
The fanbase isn't part of a the (whatever the fanbase is a part of) overall quality of the thing the fanbase is a part of.
As fair a point as this is, a fan base can create a stigma against the show/game/novel/whatever.
I dislike Justin Beiber. Everything he has ever said, done and or posted has reinforced that dislike. But the number one reason I dislike him is because his fanbase disgusts me. His entire interaction with them disgusts me. When he was caught smoking pot, his fans literally slit their wrists and posted it on the internet because they had to hurt themselves to protest Justin "hurting" himself. The man obviously has no issue with pot, but found his hands tied because he had to pretend to be repentant. He had used the same platform disney used with the Jonas brothers, marketing sex to little girls while disguising the whole production as a wholesome family event. And because of that he lied about his beliefs to keep his insane delusional fanbase.
I think that the quality of the fans does represent the quality of the item in question at least to some extent. But in all things it's important to be subjective.
This about the league fanbase I take it?
Fanbases can ruin good things. You have to remember that. Generally that prejudice can be overcome if the thing in question continues to generate high quality content, often in spite of it's fanbase. If the group or item can't maintain quality work then it wasn't worth the hype to begin with. Consider twilight. It's fanbase was such a turnoff that many folks never attempted to read the books. And now no one cares because the product was not good enough to justify the hype.
But if their fans are stupid as Fuck that says something about the actual thing doesn't it..?
I mean take a look at the fanbase of cop block on Facebook: half the time people don't even read the articles and come With false facts and refuse to Listen to facts and evidence... And what does cop block do? EXACTLY the same thing
