The anime barely taught you anything about the actual card game lol I run a gaming club at college and whenever some poor schmuck walks up the Yu-Gi-Oh table and insists the game works like the anime they all laugh so hard at him/her.

Nowadays blue eyes works because theres a whole mess of cards that are just "summon a blue eyes from your deck for free". Quite a culture shock when i saw that.

(And i assume the only use of the free blue eyes is to fuel some xyz summon combo, my childhood noooo).

I use mine for fusion summons So I don't really summon them, I just collect 3 in my hand Maybe I should make a deck entirely composed of Blue Eyes and some spell and trap cards that can summon them.....

I used Crystal Beasts until I eventually stopped.

They seemed weak, but that stopped when the Rainbow Dragon came into play...

Now all "modern Yu-Gi-Oh players" only use archtypes because their so op that nothing else can compete. I miss GX where you could build a deck with your favourite cards and make it work by making up a strategy. Not one that KONAMI made for you. They just want the money from archtypes because it ensure that players have to buy EVERY card of that archtype.

i based mine all around Command Knight. It was a pure warrior type deck. Oh and my heavy hitter was Black luster soldier envoy of the Beginning. I had like every card made till i out grew it lol.... still have them just in chest some where XD

Wonder if that game died out because it didnt work so well in the internet age. Cards are horribly suited for forums (text too small if you uploaded photos, lots of names werent too recognizable).

Might just be the expansions but i remember having fun in the tuner era with a spellcounter deck.

People already didn't like xyz summons, and pendulum summons made the game extremely one sided, since non-pendulum decks had lots of trouble beating the former, which practically killed off other decks.
