I'm just sad that there are literally so many counters to Karthus ult. item 3157 Bard Sivir Fiora Fizz Kayle Lulu Morgana Nocturne Shen Taric Zilean

Feels like every time I play Karthus in draft I just get counterpicked to oblivion.

Sona Shield + heal almost always negates most of the ult damage. Janna Same as the above Gangplank More heal the lower he is = can't kill him

Sona or Janna can probably disable you if they're close enough... Then again, the karthus would wait until he was dead to use his ult

karthus however has some of the best synergy. he synergizes very well with any of the other super high range characters, so long as you both don't hit at the same time. i mean, karth won't get the kill but as they prep for karth ult they will be caught off guard by the other one, and if they do somehow manage to block the other one then karthus will likely end up going through.

I like Karthus Mid with Shen Top.

Tell Bot Lane "When Karth and Shen hit 6, all in IMMEDIATELY. Regardless. Jungle and mid roamed to, cool... dive it."

Shen Ults in, Karthus Ults, Shen Taunts... 4 Dead fools and a happy ADC and Support bot.

Especially if our Jungle ganks at the same time.

I was in a beginner bots game. I didn't fully read the spell, but I knew it did damage.

So I walked up to Malzahar bot sitting in mid lane, used my ult, then started trying to hit him with my Q's and E. He dodged most of the stuff and got away after killing me.

I didn't even realize my ult affected the whole map. I just felt defeated because it seemed to do so little damage, had a long cast time, and had a really long cooldown. :c

When the Pool Party Party IP weekend rolled around though a few months later, I decided to get Karthus and try him out again because I was moderately sure that his kit was actually cool and I misused it in the bot game. I'm glad I did--he's my favorite mid laner right now. (Favorite champion, actually.)

Best ult is when you try to kill chump that run away with low hp and you get double or triple without actually seeing any of your victims.

That guy had to have been upset. Running around low in the jungle just trying to get that last camp or two to finish an item before you go back, Karthus ults to kill your teammate, kills you too.

It's still hilarious though ;P Trust me, if Karthus was played more often, junglers would be less likely to risk it doing that.

Yeah. There are three types of Karthuses (Karthi?): the ones who are legitimitely just feeders, the ones who can land a good ult and that's it, and then the Karthuses that are not about for about 30 minutes aside from finishing kills with ult before coming around and raping teamfights. 2/3 times though what ends up happening is you'll be hit with a karthus ult every 2-4 minutes.

Hourglass, and generic magic resist items that are good against any mage is hardly itemizing against his ult. It has to be slow and telegraphed because it hits everyone, his ult is genuinely balanced, use it in a safe place or after you die or you've got a chance to be interrupted, it's fair.
