This would make a lot more sense: "Death" = x "is" = y "the best cc" = z x + y + z = z + y + x

But that would just be a mathematical fallacy anyway. Just like... a = b Multiply by a a^2 = ab Substract b^2 a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2 Factor both side (a - b)(a + b) = b(a - b) Divide out (a - b) a + b = b Replace a by b since a = b b + b = b Combine 2b = b Divide by b 2 = 1

Or rather, simply not a mathematical thing at all since we are manipulating strings and not integers.

You are correct if you are thinking like a computer. If you look at the variable based on their ideas rather than the words themselves, they are equivalent in the context of this argument.

Think of it this way, just as Sacramento is the capital of California, the capital of California is Sacramento. The words "Sacramento" and "the capital of California" are not the same, but the place they are referring to is.

Similarly, "Death" and "the best cc" are referring to the same thing. In this way, "Death" = "the best cc"

Edit: You could also think of it like this: int num1 = 5; int num2 = 5;

In this case, num1 = num2 even though "num1" != "num2"

Not at all. It's simple math. If a = b, then b must = a. The word "is" can effectively replace/be replaced by the symbol "=".

I even showed each step (though I admit that I did not properly explain what made each step legal). If I had explained each step in full though, it would be beyond boring. After all, how many people want to read a full proof in the memes section of the LoL boards?

With my current knowledge, I'd still argue that "=" is more similar to "is" than "⊆" is. Though I do admit my knowledge in that are remains extremely limited.

When you say A is B you imply that A is a subset of B . Is means "to be" in the 3rd person singular present tense form (a copula) and this is not an equivalence at all.

For example: "5 is a number" or "Joe is bronze"

5 is a subset of all numbers and Joe is a subset of bronze players. This is all ⊆ says.

If you use "=" then by the symmetric property of equality you are also saying "a number is 5" and "bronze is Joe" which isn't true since all numbers aren't 5 and a bronze player isn't necessarily Joe.

I told my friend who wanted to learn support lux that his first item should be mejais, then he could finish sightstone then we played 4 games of it together and he averaged 17 stacks (back when the cap was 20)

I was half-joking when I told him to do it, but in the end it was super effective!

So most these Mage "supports" become useless unless they get ahead because their utility isn't good enough mid to late game compared real supports but don't have the items/levels to make up for it in damage. Zyra probably being the expection but she pays for it for by being immobile and extra squishy.

My supp morgana yesterday told me she would stop supporting me if i didnt give her CS even though she had frostfang. Then during laning phase all she ever did was try and pick kills and left me to die several times while she was trying to last hit the enemy.

We lost that game pretty fast and she made sure to tell me she thought it was my fault.

Beats me - more often than not, I won't even be given the Siege minion, despite the heal (if necessary) PLUS gold share. I mean, really!?

Even with 2-3 charges, I may get a caster minion, but otherwise just a big fuck you from the ADC.

Primary reason why I stopped playing tanky supports. I don't get the Relic items even in ARAM anymore, as the Coin series is usually just as profitable.

Another reason why I stick to my AP Lulu up top - her ultimate has roughly the same effect as the FOTM active. ...Plus details such as being a "heal"/have a knockup/give AoE MS debuff, and most importantly all without the hassle of going through a laning phase with a potentially self-centered ADC.

I call that a win-win for me. ^^
