Twas a sad day when Udyr first showed in LCS in a meta he was weak in Twas a sadder day when he returned several times including a few weeks ago

When Viktor first appeared, I thought it was a blessing. A chance to show the fools that yes, there WAS an immobile mage who could fight against assassins. When he became a staple pick after his rework, I was horrified but he wasn't nerfed for so long...NOW in the most recent patch his Death Ray, his signature ability, was nerfed. Why? Oh because apparently lazoring down enemy teams with good positioning and waveclearing vs assassins who can insta-kill him is not interactive

When TahmKench first got his buffs I was terrified. I'd played him nonstop until then to know his power, but I knew it was only a matter of time for him to appear in LCS after his buffs. Well, they happened and now he's a permaban in ranked even after his recent nerfs

When Gangplank first appeared, well I knew it was nerfing time. He lost, but he got fed. Enough reason for Rito to start laying down the nerfs

In season 3 Jax was the MVP of the world finals. Nerfing time happened, then he showed up here and there annnnnd just got nerfed again

Sion Well...we know what happened to this poor guy after his rework, along with Sejuani even though I didn't play her

When Trundle appeared to fight back against the top lane domination of Renekton Shyvana DrMundo but wasn't destroyed I was glad. Then a year later he re-appeared and his splitpushing power was destroyed, as well as his post-6 pressure.

But most tragic of all for me:

When he got fed in the season 3 world finals, I knew it was banning and then gutting time. Didn't matter that he lost, he appeared about 2-3 times before in other games and got fed in the finals. This entire time, the midlane was ruled by Ahri Fizz Zed and sometimes Syndra or Lissandra would appear and Vayne was queen of bot lane. In this time, the term "cancer", "OP", "BS" was thrown around at all of these champions. Some of these statements were deserved, others not.

However, there was only champion who could possibly hold his ground against them all, one champion who had been considered a trollpick for years, one champion who could defeat all of these "Cancer" champions it was Kassadin . He couldn't win his damn lane against half of them, but he could still grow into a threat himself lategame, either by shutting down the enemy mid with his silence, or by diving and killing the backline. Soon after he proved to be extremely effective in the meta and here came the rework.

When he was reworked, I was sad but determined to not give up. Soon I learned to play the new Kassadin , though a shell of his former self I could definitely manage a semblance of some success.

When he got buffed because he was "weak" I was glad. Then he appeared in LPL and LCS again and the nerfs piled on until he got gutted.

I don't have to worry, I don't think the pros will ever find themselves thinking "I'm going to use MonkeyKing in LCS this year :D". Unless he gets some big changes when riot goes to update either assassins or initiating fighters (2 of the 3 roles riot is considering after the mage update), He won't likely see LCS any time soon.
