THE RIDDLE HAS BEEN SOLVED!!! Try to figure it out before reading the answer below.

Hey guys.

I really enjoyed writing this riddle. Blazoir helped me come up with some ideas for the riddle and helped me create an outline. Thank you Blazoir.

Here we go! CHECK OUT THE POLL BELOW

At times we ponder on things passed. For all things we know, time will outlast. As time drags on, our comfort gone, All we can do is mourn and look on.

At the beginning the process begins, Ends at the closing of all that has been. It’s when, not if, not if, but when. The wisest of all have serenity within.

An emptiness that cannot be filled With fingers reaching that are not instilled Never gives, always wants, Haunting the bravest, it will daunt.

Of fingers clenched and foreheads drenched Whether children to mothers or players benched Those entrenched from comfort wrenched Yearning and pleading will never be quenched.

Darkness thrives within our lives, This riddle lets the darkness survive. Struggle you may and put up a fight, Until answered, there is no light.

Good Luck!

I don't know what the prize should be for figuring out this riddle. It should be something good because this riddle is tough. Check out the poll, the option with the most votes at the time the riddle is answered is what the prize will be.

Edit #2

At times we ponder on things passed. For all things we know, time will outlast. As time drags on, our comfort gone, All we can do is mourn and look on.

An introductory stanza suggesting the answer is from the past.

At the beginning the process begins, Ends at the closing of all that has been. It’s when, not if, not if, but when. The wisest of all have serenity within.

This paragraph is about death - The process of death starts at birth. The process of death ends with death. It is when not if. The wisest have accepted they will inevitably die.

An emptiness that cannot be filled With fingers reaching that are not instilled Never gives, always wants, Haunting the bravest, it will daunt.

This paragraph is about fire. - Fire is an abyss that never stops as long as there is food for it. Fingers reaching and not instilled. The rest is easy to see.

Of fingers clenched and foreheads drenched Whether children to mothers or players benched Those entrenched from comfort wrenched Yearning and pleading will never be quenched.

This stanza is about the word grasp. - children and mothers grasping each other. Players benched grasping for greatness. Yearning and pleading suggested grasping.

Darkness thrives within our lives, This riddle lets the darkness survive. Struggle you may and put up a fight, Until answered, there is no light.

Concluding paragraph suggesting it is really hard.

I'm gonna say either death or the cycle of life and death.

At times we ponder on things passed. For all things we know, time will outlast. As time drags on, our comfort gone, All we can do is mourn and look on.

referring to death and how time goes on after we die.

At the beginning the process begins, Ends at the closing of all that has been. It’s when, not if, not if, but when. The wisest of all have serenity within.

This is just describing cycles in general and how if you know death is coming you get a sense of peace.

An emptiness that cannot be filled With fingers reaching that are not instilled Never gives, always wants, Haunting the bravest, it will daunt.

It makes people sad when you die, an emptiness in their lives, death reaches with fingers, death is daunting and feared.

Of fingers clenched and foreheads drenched Whether children to mothers or players benched Those entrenched from comfort wrenched Yearning and pleading will never be quenched. (impressive rhyme btw)

Tension/fear, 2nd line no clue, you can plead but you'll still die.

Darkness thrives within our lives, This riddles lets the darkness survive. Struggle you may and put up a fight, Until answered, there is no light.

darkness=sadness, rest=ending

This is my guess and reasoning

FUDGE DUDE WAIT IS IT SOULSTEALER VAYNE?! OR DEATHFIRE GRASP?

Explanation: I honestly saw someone put Deathfire Touch, and I thought about it. Re-read the riddle, and it sounded like death, SOMETHING to do with death and darkness. Read it again.

"At the beginning the process begins, Ends at the closing of all that has been. It’s when, not if, not if, but when. The wisest of all have serenity within."

Closing I interpreted as either the hands of the staff closing or when you used it's active and blew someone up, the closing would mean active is down/enemy is killed.

It "ends" when the game is over, or when the enemy is killed. Possibly also when you buy it and harness it's power.

Figured I'd should mention before I continue, I used every item death related and looked it up on wiki for the image/passives/actives, and Deathfire Grasp seemed to be the most accurate.

"An emptiness that cannot be filled With fingers reaching that are not instilled Never gives, always wants, Haunting the bravest, it will daunt."

The hand on the staff/hand thing has magic on it, but the hands are wilted, as if it needs more but can't get it. Hands are self-explanatory, they're reaching out for the magic that they cannot get, the haunt the bravest (enemy mages/the mage you're playing, as it is an assassin mage burst item)

"Whether children to mothers or players benched"

A lot of mages used to use this item, from Ahri to well, a child, Annie, and Orianna, who always wanted to join the Field of Justice as a Champion or "player."

The rest was just me going "IT HAS TO BE" and just guessing it cause if I was wrong I could just re-evaluate.

Is it the summoner?

The riddle starts off using we alot. That means it is not a singular character, but a collective. It also finishes off with our. And it looks at game from an out side perspective. "Of fingers clenched and foreheads drenched Whether children to mothers or players benched" That is a direct reference to the individual playing the game. The always taking and never giving. The yearning that will never be answered. It all describes the game, however the focus is on the players inner struggle.
