I am Summoner Level 20, have 66.8k mastery points on Sion, level 7 Mastery - earned at Summoner Level 17 with 55.5k mastery points. I have 12 separate Mastery Pages for 12 different styles of Sion play, from support to AP to on-hit to ultimate sustain. I have 12 corresponding item sets matching those Mastery Pages. I have played Sion in every position, including bot lane carry.
And I'll still tell you that support Sion is the best way to play him.
