Story I heard was that he needed to go to the bathroom so he improvised the scene. It was supposed to be an epic sword battle, but the improvised scene was too funny to not place into the movie. They reshot the scene a couple times to make it look better, but yeah.

Not just Harrison. A lot of extras allegedly had it, too. So it was probably main problem - there would be no crowd of extras around for long time.
