hint # 1, The reference is to a game which has a title that differs depending upon how you read the title, know the story or simply see the subtitle. These titles begin with the letters D and F

hint #2, The character being referenced wields a spear like Jarvan and comes from a popular videogame series, though his quote comes from a spinoff sequel to the original game

Hint #3, The character is a common name in the game series he is from. It was his dream to be an astronaut, but in an act of fate, he sacrificed his career to save a woman (whom I forget whether it was equal love or one way relationship)
