I'll assume you are serious and point out that, even if you are a Bard master, your team has almost certainly not yet learned to play with the Wandering Caretaker and would probably appreciate some discussion before you lock him in, so they know what to expect out of you. Chances are good that your ADC will expect you to stick around for a large part of the early game until they are strong enough to lane on their own, but the Bards I have seen seem more intent on collecting chimes pre-ten than on actually supporting. Your ADC will appreciate some communication in champ select so they know what to expect from you and how to choose their champion for successful laning.

That's the thing though; I'm finally getting the hang of Bard now and 1you shouldn't roam early unless the enemy went back or is pushed way up. Your chimes don't spawn too far away and before laning phase is over you only need to collect 15 chimes for the bonus meep. Don't actually roam until you have sightstone, and when you do make sure to leave well placed health packs, tell your partner you'll be right back, and that if it's an emergency you have TP up to get back to them quickly. Being Bard I find is about managing your time and working around your team since on your own you are useless.

Out of curiosity, what gold item(s) do you build on Bard?

Spellthief. Your meep attacks proc the passive twice and you generate extra gold just roaming around. The mana regen helps as well as the ap and cdr.

The other option would be ancient coin as I see other people build but it grants no ap and your shrines should be enough for regen.

I've been maining bard for a while now ever since he was released. I'm probably the best or at least top 3 bard players ever. I don't think this is fair just because you're too poor to buy him.

So every solo bard I've seen either abandons botlane entirely leaving you 2v1 or they stay botlane, never collect chimes, and they just whip out Ws on your face for like 2 health. Like seriously, why do people play a champion thats rated hard without at least looking at the spotlight? Lol. Best part is the ulti, oh boy. So many times I just see the thing land in the middle of a teamfight where it basically does nothing since both teams were equally locked. Seriously, all you have to do is save it to protect allies or whiff it at their backline on 2 people for a free pick on their front.

It's kind of true. Anytime I see a Bard locked up I immediately take support for the free "at least bot lane was good." Rolled over a Bard/Ashe with Ez/Lulu.

Anyone playing a champ in ranked while it still has it's release IP cost up is going to throw.

The only people that are able to say they know how to play Bard is the PBE testers who played him extensively for two weeks on the PBE. 2 days is nothing to master a champion.

If you are on picks/bans... just ban him. The same was true with Rek'Sai at launch... so many people didn't understand the tunneling thing.

Alternatively... just pick support and you won't have to worry about your team having it... of course you won't be able to carry the match likely however.
