Me and a friend of mine theorise that Ivern the Cruel had a lover called Daisy who was his first kill, and consumed with shame he tried to fill the void of his empty heart with Daisy the Golem. Daisy's favourite animals were the Dragon and Baron however, so whenever he sees them painful flashbacks get triggered and his descends into a psychopathic rage where he has to kill them to stop the voices in his head.
He also breathes Carbon Dioxide, meaning he literally breathes your out-breathe.
They are rivals and competitors.
