Took a little while to sink in but I got it. To anyone not in the know, the claw grip was a method used in the monster hunter 3ds games in which you would use the circlepad and control the camera via the touchscreen using only your left hand.

That was done back on the PSP the most... Gods I had to use that often due to me being a gunner... Fucking painful!

You could, and still can, setup the touch screen so you didn't need to do the claw grip since you can adjust what touch screen buttons in whatever place worked best for you.

I use to put the D-Pad on the right so I can quickly adjust my camera without needing to change how I'm holding my 3DS.
