Im no lux main but it can work but i imagine its matchup dependant.

You can do that, and it does work (and hurt) but it also lowers the chance to complete your q e r combo... at lvl 16 Lux ult is at around 30 seconds, its just easier to spam that from a distance rather than getting close to hit that empowered AA.
