i believe the series/promo system needs another tweak, like the recent "auto promote" feature.

here's my thought: probational auto promotion for potentially "stuck" players.

here's how it would work...

for series, the third time you become eligible for your series (best of 3, for V>IV>III>II>I ranks) you are automatically promoted regardless of the outcome of the series. if you actually win the series, the promotion is applied as normal. if you lose the series, you are put on "probational" status, which promotes you but removes the temporary demotion protection and slightly inflates your LP loss on losses.

here's the restrictions for series:

• all three series eligibilities must occur in a "streak"

• your "streak" is canceled and the counter reset if you fall below 50 LP

• your "streak" is canceled and the counter reset upon promotion (probational or otherwise)

for promos (best of 5, for bronze>silver>gold>platinum>diamond>challenger ranks), it's the same as series but it procs on the fifth promo, rather than the third. restrictions are also the same.

my line of thought is simple. those who are constantly hitting series/promos but failing to win the best of, shouldn't be perpetually restricted to whatever the rank is they're being stuck on. they're consistently reaching their series/promo, so they are clearly skilled enough to move on, but are being held in place by an artificial barrier.

this doesn't feel good, no matter how you look at it.
