Lucian, just not up to standards?

Lucian So I havent played this game in quite a long time and a buddy of mine invites me back to play and i notice Lucian as a free pick. Interested i try the champ out as ADC has been a favorite of mine. After the game i came to the conclusion that this champ is really lacking in every aspect. I checked out Jinx the newest ADC and I am flabbergasted at how they release another ADC right afterwards who is everything Lucian isn't. She has mobility, Ratios, huge damage, and dueling capacity. So I'm curious Riot, what led you to release such an unbearably weaker ADC and then go and release a high powered one?

Lucian is underated and he's not exactly a pure AD-carry.

He's somewhat between an AD-carry and an AD-caster. Lucian revolves around his passive, which is 2 AAs proc'ed by using your abilities. Simply standing and AA-ing like a Caitlyn is just wrong.

Lucian also revolves around having good positioning and aim as his Q and W do a fair amount of damage. Missing those will chunk away a good portion of your dmg.

As for his ult. Early-game he's meeehhhhhh... Mid-late game I find it good for wave clearing/ jungle clearing such as stealing a buff quickly.

For items, when I build him, I'll get a tri-force, BT, LW, IE and Botrk. Usually tri-force first with a vamp scepter early. The rest has no particular order.

Rework ashe for more movement speed or heavier slows before you do anything about balanced Lucian.

Lucian really isn't that underpowered. The reason he feels underpowered is because he is heavily team dependent (ie, he cannot carry late game if his team does not intentionally help him early game). He is not an early snowball champ and is intended for late game matchups. If he gets fed AND is played correctly, Lucian gets scary. Trust me this champ will not bring you any accidental Pentakills and he will make you suffer if you under cs long enough. At lvl 3 you can honestly 1v1 most adc matchups if you know how to handle Lucian. This guy is not a High Risk/High Reward champ, he is a High Skill-Mechanics/High Reward champ.
