Rank AFK Suspension for Toxic Players

Starkinight··6 votes·678 views

I think Riot should implement a rule that if a player goes afk in a rank game they are suspended from rank for a week no matter what. So much people go afk in bronze and cry when they have problems. It suck to play with people with poor sportsmanship that gives up and leave the game making the whole team lose and get demoted. It would also be good if Riot would give the players an option to kick out a toxic player during champion select in a group decision just like surrender.

Awesome! I propose there should be a penalty for toxic players. Let me clarify... Players that have been reported and seen guilty. These players should have a timer or system to go through that enables them to build a good enough rapport to be allowed to play ranked again. For example, if I were to be reported 1-5 times out of that week, and I have a past repetition of being toxic in some form or another. (all recent past, maybe a month or a bit less) I will need to prove myself by playing at least 5-10 normal games with no issues before I can go back into solo/duo ranked play, or before I go into any ranked play. (depending on the offense and how often I am toxic) This would promote friendliness and good sportsmanship.

Riot afraid that hard punishment will damage they income. Toxic player got money too, you know?

IT honestly doesn't matter what elo it is. You will always get an afk player at some point. If another player is talking bad about you or another player tell them to calm down and play if they keep talking smack then just don't say anything even better yet mute/block that player! problem solved!

Wrong. We shouldn't have to cope with toxic players during 21 minutes (minimum for a surrender) nor handicap our game by muting that player, giving us less communication overall. There should be a Kick Vote, although, I must admit, I see less and less toxic people as time goes by...

This topic has been discussed so many times yet. If there is a kick vote, it will kill diversity. Personally, I've started playing support Poppy recently, and let me tell you what, I get flamed way more often than I get trusted. Yet, the pick is still very viable. Spamhappy/Zekent played quite a bit of support Poppy games and ended up positive, and "Opened" is currently on a mostly-Poppy streak (/Opened97 on twitch), and he's playing it to great success too.

But overall, I'm pretty sure I would get kicked from playing Support Poppy (or J4/Morg) and they are truly viable, and even more so in Silver Division... It's the same with Karma top, people play it at all levels of competition yet, since it's not mainstream (aka played by Dyrus or Voyboy), I'm getting flamed for it.

Just remember every sinle times you saw someone get flamed in champ select, that would've been a re-queue and a possible penalty for someone that was either trying something out, or maybe even playing to great success something you don't know works.

Also, I don't see how kicking someone handicaps you less than him being AFK.

First of all, on the subject of unconventional picks, you should watch Sky's video on the subject. Sorry if you like unconventional picks, but nobody wants to risk it just because some Pro Streamer somewhere did it.

Also, you should learn the difference between "Viable" (Capable of being played without a negative effect on the outcome of a game) and "Optimal" (Capable of being played and highly likely to produce a positive effect towards the outcome of a game). In Ranked, you have to play "Optimal" Picks to increase your chances of winning, and playing something Viable is, somewhat, a detriment to your team's overall chances.

That said, to the subject of the thread:

Kicking someone makes you incorporate a new player in champ select, so you play 5v5, instead of the obvious 4v5 in case of an AFK during game, but the thing is, some games are lost from champ select due to ragers and trolls, and it would be awesome for us responsible players to have a way to evade that kind of people without having to pay a price in LP for it. There are loads of bad things that could be avoided with a Kick Vote, and it's potential for good surpasses greatly it's potential for misuse or evil.

Technically, you can't kick him because he's AFK if it's still champ select, the game does it all by itself already or he's not AFK yet. So basically, you can't fill in a new player in the case of the OP. And in the case I described, ou just reinforce my point of the kick-vote being used as a soft queue dodge, where anyone that doesn't do as you like gets kicked. It's not about having the best chances at that point, it's about using your selfish feelings t ojudge of one's ability to play this game.

Otherwise, I do believe that a Viable pick you're good on is more optimal than an "optimal" pick you're not.
