Know how much dmg you can do and practice.
To be honest last hitting is more a skill than anything else. You should practice to make improvements like any other skill but with that said, heres some tips.
-know how much damage you do -Wait a tiny bit longer than usual, sometimes the minions die right after an auto attack hits them because of minions attacking that minion. -Be quicker, (in the exact opposite scenario as the one previously mentioned) sometimes minions die before your auto attack hits the minion.
Overall last hitting is a skill you should practice and your ability to last hit should improve over time.

get a champion that has low damage and fight a bot that is ranged but never engage and avoid getting harassed out of lane. I did this with vlad and soraka. such low attack speed animation. really annoying doing this and also use a do damage buff on runes and mastery's. if anything just use health defensive if its proving a bit to had. also doing this against 2 bots is even more aggravating. but this helped me out tons on last hitting art. of course when er all good get use to the ones that u wanna main since u need to adjust for damage travel time. good luck on ranking up!
Okay, what worked for me was to focus on two things.
last hit with an APC building AP. Once you can last hit with a low AD champ in a PvP situation then adc will seem like cake.
Get comfortable with ONE adc with the same starting items. Once you can do well with one adc, if you switch it will be easier to shift gears on the variance in damage and speed.
Then you get to go into the magic of lane pushing and minion play if you haven't already been exposed to that. Adc is easy to start but hard to master, good luck good sir!

Every time I get a new champ I do a few custom games with them just to get used to last hitting. It can be boring but I've found it really helps to take some time and do it as every champ has a different attack animation. 1v1 and 3v3 (with bots or a friend if you want someone to talk to) on the rift map are usually how I set it up. 1v1 is nice because you can go to a lane alone and concentrate only on last hitting and then move on to 3v3 and lane against someone without having to worry about the other lanes getting pushed in too fast. I avoid buying anything other than a dorans item to start with because if you can learn how to last hit without any "real" items then it will be massively easier as you scale up in a real game. 100 minions in 10 minutes is ideal and gives you a goal to measure your progress against.
Play some bot games so that you can learn how to last hit. If your support is last hitting, he/she's not supporting, they're bein' greedy.
To increase your chances of last hitting, tap into items that give bonus attack speed. The faster you hit, the more chances you have to snag the last hit. That's partially why you see 
getting so many kills. She has a tendency to steal them.
Practice your timing. You need to look at how fast your minions are eating their minions and know how quick your autos are. Then you time it so that you just get that last little bit in before those greedy minions snag it.
AD runes or masteries can make it easier since you don't have to be quite as precise. Good luck!
You should know how much damage you do on to the minions, and get AD runes. Also, only hit the minions when they are low, don't bother hitting them when they still have a lot of health left. Let the minions do the damage and you can take the last hit much more easily.
I would just like to say thanks my last hitting has been getting a tad bit better. Baby steps i guess! I've been playing bots to learn how to last hit which is pretty easy. Thanks for all the tips though!!!!
As a Shaco only player who is captain killsteal, it's an acquired skill that you'll get better at over time.
Right click the minion and at the top it will have the hp and then look at your ad and when you think it will go low auto it and try to remember the bar above the minions position. Helped me learn. Just like smite practice.
