Riot messed up big time

Season 4

1.The only trinket people use is the yellow one and even its abilities are so useless that i would rather get a 75 gold green ward.... wait i only get 3.

  1. Idk why but every single game now for me goes like this - Lead 1st 20 mins ....... push a turret get the inhibator. Other team split pushes us until they are full build and we eventually lose or barely win.

  2. Basically every game now has comebacks because its so easy to get gold and lvl.

  3. Warding has become non existent at buffs/dragon and is only used to prevent ganks now with the the ward limit.

  4. Supports where suppose to get better late game but atm EVERYONE in game is catching up late game with all the changes to jungle, wards, etc.

  5. Pink wards are only good now for baron or dragon and anyone can see them, WTF YOU EXPECT PPL TO DO NOT LIKE WE CAN HIDE THEM.

  6. Way to many comebacks i mean ffs everyone getting level boost by late game it becomes who can kill everyone on other team first and rush to nexus before they respawn its ridiculous.

  7. Season 3 was my first playing and its actually really frustrating that you guys hand out a alpha version out of nowhere to all these people with so much **** now that i think i'm going to spend most my time now playing dota if i want to play a moba now.

Will check back with you guys after awhile when everything is not broke and alpha feeling.

I recommend you guys change everything back to season 3 and add little changes at a time before you completely decide to destroy it.

The only statement I agree with is #5 - the game is now very late-game based, due to the lack of being able to snowball anymore. Without the ability to snowball from getting drag/destroying turrets, it makes it hard to counter someone hard through ganks and rapid gold gaining (ex: Nasus and Vayne).

  1. The trinkets are nice and really allow everyone to share warding responsibility. The red trinket is just as useful as the yellow trinket and when i support, I typically take red to counter the enemy's wards. BUT the blue trinket, so far, is kind of worthless. Maybe we will see some pros use the blue trinket in new, interesting ways (and it's CD is really low, so it could be useful).

  2. Comebacks ARE easier now, which is a good thing. So many times, the game was decided by whoever could push the first towers and then get the first drag. Those combined gave the team to much gold to make a comeback easy. This new system allows fights to be based more on skill, rather than on rushing towers for gold to gain the advantage.

  3. Warding dragon and baron is still a thing... IDK what MMR you are playing in, but I ward dragon allll the time still.

  4. Supports are carries now, if they play their lane right. Ex: In a recent game, I was able to solo most, if not anyone, on their team, due to the gold items I had gotten early in the game. I still had sight stone so I was still a "support," but I was actually contributing to teamfights!

  5. Pink wards are actually very useful in the game, but they are very different from before. I usually place it at dragon right as we are getting it, so that I can clear wards immediately. When I am not using it for drag/baron, I use it as a permanent ward since it never dies. There are bushes on the map that are often not checked and so I place my pink there, giving me vision of an area and the enemy until they destroy it, which can be quite a while. There have even been times where they have never checked the bush my pink is in and I destroyed it myself by laying a new one down for drag/baron. It's filling a different niche in the game, which is why your feeling frustrated with it right now - you're expecting it fill the same role it did in S3, which is not the case.

  6. Already answered this. Comebacks are due to less snowballing, which IS A GOOD THING. SNOWBALLING WAS RIDICULOUS IN S3. The game is now skill/teamwork based.

  7. Each new season is awkward. Give it more than 2 weeks to see if you like it. PLUS its still preseason. They will be making changes to improve this game. Think of this time as a giant beta session.

Hope this helped relieve some frustration, or at least gives you some things to think about.

The pink wards are so useless now. It's like they just want Teemo, Eve, Twitch, and Akali to be unbeatable.

You playing the new Season wrong.

I know people don't like change but this is ridiculous.

  1. People use different trinkets every game, I see diversity every game. Yellow is the most common, yes, but saying you see 10 yellow trinkets every game is hogwash. I personally decide my trinket based on several things, like my lane position, who I'm fighting there and who the jungle is. For instance, If I'm Leona and I want bush control, I take red (scan) so I can maintain this. I don't need a yellow trinket because I will be getting a sight stone and therefore is useless to me. I had a friend that always took a red as a jungler to counter wards as he roamed and it worked quite effectively. If I plan on fighting a lot of bush squatters (Darius, Riven, Shen, Teemo, ETC) in the top lane, I like getting blue so I can scope my area better before leaving past river. When that trinket evolves, you have so much power at your disposal. It's literally a clairvoyance summoner spell with less max range, but less of a CD timer. If anything, yellow is the most useless of the trinkets because there are 2 items that are so inexpensive in shop that accomplish the same thing but better (until the trinket is leveled up) that I would rather pay money for shop wards than take that trinket. The only time I will take yellow is if I'm an adc and I need to worry about buying the strongest attack damage items I possibly can as soon as I can. AND I will still buy extra wards sometimes when we are seeing too much activity in bot lane, again, making that trinket only worth 75 gold... Hooray! So honestly, if you have an issue that people only use yellow (which I've never seen), you have a right to, but that doesn't mean you have to follow the sheeple. Laugh at their ability to not think strategically and punish them for it. I fail to see how this is Riot's Fault.

  2. (You put two #1s :3) If you're good at the game, you and you're team can snowball hard and win just as hard as you could in the previous season. Practicing optimized builds against certain team comps, or for certain team comps is a huge step in the right direction to helping your team snowball. Teamwork is the most OP thing in this game and should be nerfed. Oh wait... no. That other thing.

  3. Man, those several games where me and my friend carried so hard the game ended with our team 25 kills over the enemy team and with most of our towers still up, dragon taken every time, baron taken without contest because they couldn't contest, buff monsters fully controlled at all times, and map warded by every member; Yeah... they're totally making that comeback. Look, this is war my friend. Learn to bury the hatchet and cut down your enemies. If there is a comeback, it's your fault. The only thing Riot has changed is the amount of potential money on map, and tweaked winions so people actually had to fight a losing team for victory (In most cases.)

  4. HAHAHAHAHA.... what? I'm skipping this. My sarcastic laughter should be effective enough to convey my opinion on that.

  5. Nah man, sorry. Gonna stop you right there on your first statement. Who again decided supports were supposed to get later late game? The community? From last I checked, the majority of people were very displeased that supports were treated like ward camels and had to spec masteries and runes specifically so they could remain relevant throughout the game. (There were times in games that I, as a support or jungler, would do EVERYTHING I needed to do to maximize my effectiveness in a scenario but it simply was not enough because I was behind.) I full heartily accept the changes made to every position and realize that this is becoming more a game of skill with less number crunching involved. That may be why you're seeing so many comebacks.

  6. If you want hidden wards... use INVISIBLE WARDS.... If you want to see invisible wards.... USE PINK WARDS THAT SEE INVISIBLE WARDS. How are you even complaining on this? Like how is this an issue?

  1. You only get three, because warding is encouraged to be bought by ALL players. 1 (?). Okay. Cool.
  2. Don't like comebacks?
  3. You must be at low Elo. Warding at dragons and buffs still happen.
  4. Why would Riot only focus on supports? Junglers also fall behind, especially during situations where they are stuck with a shit team and are needs to be in every lane at once. They fall behind with experience, even further behind the support.
  5. If you complain that much about using pink wards, use your Lens instead to destroy their wards at baron.
  6. Comebacks are good, it means people have skill (rather than winning only by snowballing). You must only like to snowball and unfairly win.
  7. Cool your jets, bro.

All of those are true imo 3. I'm pretty sure they were aiming for the ability to make a comeback even though its really annoying when you are 12/2/7 then suddenly you get aced and nexus gets rushed.

Also, I can't tell, but where turrets nerfed? I noticed I can turn a turret to butter at lvl 7 and with the current items they have, they only get armor + mr when there are none of your minions are around.... which seems pretty useless to me since most of the time you wait for the minions to tank it. By the time anyone even considers tanking it it'll be 5v1 when the turret is > %25 health where the armor/mr boost wont even matter.

The concept of the jungle leveling with the players was pretty cool except I tried to jungle last time using my same route (Blue>>Wolves>>Wraith>>Red)I may not be the best jungler, but by the time I reached red I was just underleveled enough for the lizard to nearly kill me. Which results in me recalling and less ganking. And I know I'm not the only one having problems with the harder jungling because junglers gank... And in alot of the games I've played this season as ADC/support, I was clearly overextended for long periods of time calling for an easy gank by the enemy jungler, but he couldn't due to the increased damage by monsters in the jungle and having to adapt to a different route.

  • Junglers are still useful, not as game-changing as last season
  • Many bushes are useless now (such as the top bushes and the bushes near blue buff)
  • As a support I can't ward effectively due to only being able to place 3 wards (sure you can place a pink but It's useless seeing as how it's visible to everyone and it's not a good idea to waste money on an easily destroyable ward when you get a free trinket that does the same thing)
  • Turrets nerf = Tower priority-- less team fighting, more turret destroying, building items, then swarming all at once. Yay I won even though opposite team plays better.

Kinda wish they kept it more season 3 with little additions

I agree with you completely as far as the warding and gameplay goes. one thing I/ have noticed is that the health pool seems to be much larger in general as far as champs go. Just curious if you had any input or foresight on this, or am I just being crazy?

  1. Sure the yellow is commonly used and which is great so that the support isn't anyone's slave throughout the game now and can lane without much stress.

  2. That's the great part about the game now, its now possible to turn the tide I mean I had a DC player come back in halfway through the match and dominate.

  3. Everyone wards the buffs and stuff still, its up to them to actually ward it >.> not just the support. Supports worry about the vision and extra ward for bush and jungles can worry about their bushes especially if they are wading in great assists from ganks.

  4. That's what Riot wants to do and the supports are fighting for it, gotta respect.

  5. Hint hint, your yellow trinket can go invisible after lvl 9 ^^

  6. And yeah that's what makes this game exciting instead of just steamrolling through

  7. Check out the history of this game, Riot is doing its best to appease the players and give a great experience, for the vets and experienced players we totally understand and are excited for new things. It's what makes us play the game more. If you don't wish to play, then don't play and continue with other games and come back when you feel like it.

We all have had our share of trouble with item changes, champions and etc. so hopefully you'll feel better in the end. Good Luck with those broken champs on Dota ^_^

you know this is the first iteration of the patch right. there's more changes coming. there's more tweaks coming.

S3 was fine. but your perspective is narrow because you didn't play in the previous seasons so you haven't seen the game evolved.

the whole vision game is evolving. you will either adapt and thrive or succumb to darwinism.

the comebacks will be tuned to the point where riot wants it. they may be too easy atm. i haven't played much in the pre-season chaos to noticed that kind of thing yet however, are you actually complaining because now you have to play the game more carefully later in the game. you're complaining about the game getting harder as time progresses? that seems silly to me.
