I checked my LP and it was -10, so I thought that if I lost my next game I would be demoted. But I ended up losing my next game and it went to -13 instead. Does anyone know what this means, if anything? I really hope nothing is wrong

How do promotion series work? Once you reach 100 LP, promotion series trigger. You will need to win 2 out of 3 games to advance a division and win 3 out of 5 games to advance a tier.
How does shielding work? Temporary shields will stop players from dropping into a lower tier immediately after promotion. You will be shielded from demotion for the next 3 games if you advance a division. If you advance a tier, you will be shielded for 10 games. Furthermore, if you are in danger of being demoted to a lower tier, you will receive a warning in your summoner profile.
