How is Yasuo not insanely OP again?

Lets look at his passive: Double crit value with a small -damage modifier...strong but not blatantly OP...but wait there's more He also gets a shield...as the 'other part of his passive'. No big deal right? Wait. At level 18 this shield gives 690 hps. Yep you heard me right. 690 HPs. There's another champ in the league who gets a shield for a passive to. It gives him 10% of his health...so for his SINGLE passive to be as strong as yasuo's he would need...6900 hps. Cuz that seems achievable...oh and yasuo gets to power his shield up by running around and using abilities...malphite? Nah he has to go sit in a corner for 10 seconds. Next up: He's also resource-less. That's ok though right? Cuz resource-less champs get high cool-downs to make up for their not need mana right? Wrong. Damaging skills: 4 second CD max rank and .1 second CD max rank....K seems balanced. WAIT we're NOT DONE!!!! check this out. So this guy doesn't have to bother building cooldown reduction we make his already insanely low CDR skill scale with ATTACK SPEED...that seems fair right? But you want more? Oh yeah he also gets an AOE CC ultimate that ALSO gives him HUGE amounts of armor penetration...for half the cooldown of the ultimate. Obviously not OP at all.

Well, considering hes squishy as f*&k and has no real way of activating his ult during teamfights without dieing first, I think the short length shield is necessary in order for him to accomplish anything. The Q is considered an AA, the crit chance double also reduces crit damage if you didn't know, his ult can only be activated with knockups, and the one he has is just as unreliable. His dash cant be halted unlike most other champs who finish the dash then get cc'ed. the windwall might be strong, but it has a ot of counterplay. The armor pen is bonus armor, so literally no pen if you dont buy armor. Hes a melee adc caster, hes needs to have some survivability tools. Its true he may need to be tuned down, but i think the PBE changes nerfing the flow gains on the Windwall passive should keep his shield down for one more second when dashing optimally. :3 learn to play against him, hes not op, hes high skill, high reward.

Keep in mind while he gets 2x crit chance, the crits themselves do 10% less damage. That and also remember crit by itself will not win a lane or a game, you need AD and Attack Speed to make it worth it. His crit passive merely makes it a lot easier to get to 75+% crit chance by not making him build 4 crit items.

His resource is a very large shield yes, but it can be popped by a smart player quite easily. Very similar to a support popping a veil to allow for an AP to do a full burst. The decision point of when that shield is popped is actually not up to Yasuo unless he is on the offensive.

Cooldown only champs are very OP if used right, but he pays for it by an incredibly short range and a skill that (while it can turn fights) cannot damage in any way.

Essentially, Yasuo is balanced by skill cap on the player's and the opponents' part. Wind wall must be used well to block, his infinite dahses have to be kept track of and timed well and his Q has to be stacked up before he can even have the option to use his ult. If all of this is done well then yes, he can stomp people into the ground, its what he was meant to do. But there are many things opponents can do to screw him royally. They can deny him Q stacks so he can't use his ult, they can bait wind wall and abuse its long cooldown, they can pop his shield with an aa-wait 1/2 a sec-and then burst him down.

Tl;dr He has as many subtle weaknesses and he has obvious strengths. That and the glitch where he gave an extra 2 seconds or so cc on his ult was fixed so that helps XD

While I do think he's a bit overpowered (I play him on PBE from time to time to test things out), he's still pretty easy to deal with. I think the main thing he needs is some tweaks on his CDs, but other than that he's not too bad. Though, his shield is indeed more OP than Riven's, and yet hers got the nerf hammer. :p

This does seem a little overboard. Why don't they nerf his shield so that it isn't 2x as good as poor malphite's passive AND move it onto his W scaling with skill rank instead of level.

Well considering he is a new champ...
