MENU OPTION TO FLIP MAP - FEATURE REQUEST (Resolve purple side MAP disadvantage)

Hi Riot

This feature will resolve all purple side MAP disadvantage and give all players equal vision regardless of what side they are on. I am asking for this feature as I find I am a much better player when I am on blue side. When I am on purple side I feel I can't see as much and the angle seems weird. I have seen this raised several times in the forums. Below is my solution.

SOLUTION: Create a Menu Option so that players can mirror the map from the blue side (So everyone sees the Map on the same angle and Blue Side starts bottom left BUT Purple starts on the Bottom Right.).This would KEEP the Bot lane on the bottom side of the map to avoid confusion. I think with this feature, everyone would eventually migrate to having it switched on as it evens the playing field. I have been playing for a long time and still feel that I play 10X better on blue side.

Imagine the current map turned 90 degrees clockwise (only visible this way on purple side). the bot lane is still at the bottom BUT the purple starting from the bottom right hand corner and the blue enemy nexus will be seen in the top left had corner (A mirror image of what you see on the blue side.(The exact opposite)) NOTHING about the game has to change besides the way it's viewed by purple side players who have the option enabled. Please take this feature into consideration as I strongly believe it would help improve/balance League of Legends.

Kind Regards

Sorry, but unfortunately, this doesn't seem likely to happen. Riot's made a number of statements on this a while back (you could probably pull them up. think they were in the colorblind thread). The primary issue with this is that it brings up a number of issues with communication. When someone says top, you will look toward the top half of the map. Now, if half the team has this feature turned on and the other half does not, can you see why this would be a problem?

Unfortunately, you can't just keep this turned on for everyone either. In addition to the fact that you're forcing a majority of the league of legends players to learn something new to accommodate the minority, the dragon and baron buffs would not be in natural positions on the map. In half the games, you'd head toward bot lane for baron, the other half you'd go top.

Honestly, I'd like to propose my own countersolution: Allow the player to slide down the default lock position of the camera a bit based on the team they are on. Maybe have a button that puts the locked screen in a fluid state that allows the user to find a better position for the camera relative to the player. This would be entirely optional. When you hold space after changing it, your camera focuses on a spot above or below your champion based on where you moved it in the previously mentioned fluid state. Sorry if this description is a bit vague. Perhaps someone who understands what I mean could better explain it.

It's something I would like to see happen as well, but with 1 change.

Instead of showing purple on the exact same display as blue, simply do a mirror image of it.

Blue starts bottom left, purple bottom right.

OMG, this would help if you are talking about how you see it when you play, the actual mini map doesn't bother me, but the fact that I'm looking downward is annoying, and i seem to always lose those games....

As DuskOfSanity stated below, Riot has already made their case against this feature.

However, another solution could be implemented that would not change the layout of the map too much, or at least not so much that crucial map points become flipped.

I believe that the map could be rotated clockwise by 45 degrees, creating a diamond shaped map. If any map change were to occur to balance viewing angles for the purple team against the blue team, I wager that this would be it. Overlooking the jungle and the brush, the lanes would become much more symmetrical, balanced, and intuitive.

It would be rather interesting if League adopted the free-rotation angle view option that a lot of strategy games usually have due to HUD vs. Terrain Perspective variation. I definitely agree with having more control over angles in camera-control. :O

I win more games on the Purple side than I do on the Blue side. I don't think I would want this option. Also I think Riot has said many times this will not happen.

It would be a better idea for the default to be to NOT lock the camera so that players are introduced to the game that way instead of with it locked.

There is considerable technical difficulty in implementing what you want. LoL's map isn't a 3d thing. You'd have to reimplement the map turned 90 degrees.

Then you'd have to make sure it works precisely identically. Good luck with that.

Do you know that the base Wall on each side are not have equally same thickness?

If they couldn't that small issue, I doubt that they can make flip map without breaking a lot of other things.

The only thing I can do to prevent getting destroyed in bot lane is making my HUD smaller
