They all get more difficult as levels progress, not because of levels but your match rating, which puts you against better foes the better you get, you'll always struggle.

That being said, defensive champions are the easiest to play, they have the natural ability to survive damage, unlike carries such as you mentioned, who won't really perform well with defensive builds, and survive by cooperation and crafty engagement.

Any champion can go to top levels of play, most of them are somewhat balanced, while some are truly easier, your matches are often going to be determined by match up or skill.

But if you ever want to be good at this game, you need to stop playing individual champions, unfortunately I can not give you the classic advice to play everything so you have a grasp on all champions, whether your using them or just facing them... but you should slowly try to sample and experience as much of every champion as you can, try them out of free weeks, play coop games and learn more champions, at the least read through champion functions and watch some spotlights.

If your having some particular trouble you can always read guides, I would go to the old forums strategy section and some of the fansites to see other players impressions, just remember they are not always correct... or current.

Your welcome to add me in game as well if you want some in game tutoring..., well, for whenever I just happen to be on...

u can play and win with either of them if you know how to use good positioning and builds. When I first started all I played with was master yi.

It's nice that you focus your gameplay on specific champions, but, as others have said, you need to try out new champions. This will help you face the other cahmpions better, and you might even find a new favorite champ!

With that said, "trying out the champions" means to play at least 2-3 matches with them, so that you get a good grasp of them.

A lot of the top players tutorial videos say that one of the best way to get high elo is to pick one role and to limit your champions to either one, or just a select few, and learn those inside and out, backwards and forwards. Personally, I think this is amazingly good advice.

That being said, even when playing support, you're never going to get your role 100% of the time. So it very much pays to have at least a reasonable grasp of a few other positions. You don't have to be a master, but you need to be good enough that you don't lose the game for your teammates.

Also, part of being a master of any one champ is to know their match ups inside and out, backwards and forwards. So playing support, I don't try to go out and master every support champ. But if I find I'm struggling with a certain setup in bottom lane, I may go out and purchase that/those champ(s) and tinker with them in a few custom matches. For me, the goal isn't to become a master of those champions, but rather to become familiar with their kit so I better know how to play against them.

I was able to climb past gold with Yi. Past that, however, things have been a bit more difficult.

Your biggest issue with Yi is that you'll lose a lot of games just because a lot of people give up when Yi is picked. You can see on my profile that I'm still doing fairly well with Yi at Plat 1, though.

You can play any champ to any level, especially a yi is survivability, ult and Q are what alot say "broken" and un repairable.. I dont agree with that he needs to be fed like any other champ to be stong. Its not the champions its because the levels are exactly like you said "progressing". GLHF

yi maybe bronze 3. jinx is a capable carry in all tiers. the problem with yi is cc stop his damage and he provides no utility for the team at all. if you like to jungle i would suggest fiddlesticks or jarvan 4 as they both provide excellent cc as well good damage. fiddlesticks might currently be the strongest all around jungler in league.
