Is there any discussions being held in meetings over at HQ about this issue. A lot of players are already maxed out on runes/champs and would like to pay an absurd ammount of IP for a skin.
I own every champ and almost every runes [only useless runes are left to buy] But what happens if I own them all and have excessive amount of IP?
I agree that we should use ip to get runes
I haven't gotten there yet, but I have a few friends who have literally bought everything they can possibly buy with IP. I think that's as close as you can get to "beating" this game.
Take into mind this is a Free to play game. This means the only form of market they make is on Sales of Rp points, Items in the real world like shirts, and when they host the Championships. From a Business view they need a way to make money and Skins are the easiest way for them to make that money. I mean you have a champ you love to death. Like how I love Veigar when I first got him. You want to make him stand out. Thus you get him a skin. Something that sets you apart from the other champs if for the coolness.(Or Silliness) Of the Champ. Without the profits they make for rp points they can't fund the creation of new champs for the manhours of work people put into the game and thus it is a balance of evils. Without one you cannot have the other.
You think riot doesn't make tons of money from Tournaments that they host etc sponsorships etc... I'm pretty sure adding in the option to buy a skin for let's say 30k IP wouldn't hinder if anything it would make people want to buy more Double ip boosts and play A LOT.
