Problem with Thresh

Just wondering if anyone has been having problems with Thresh's "E" ability, or his Flay. It works most of the time but in certain situations it seems to be that it doesn't register, and its very frustrating when I die to some pathetic gank that I was unable to prevent, even when I "did". Anyone else noticed this bug since the last patch?
