Morgana Top Lane

So, I've been playing around with Morgana in top lane and it seems to work ok, I've been getting decent results. But this last match I played, I can't figure out if Morgana is just that good on top or the Fiora (the opposing lane champ) was just not a skilled player.

As far as I've always understood, Fiora should be able to dominate Morgana on top lane pretty easily. Am I mistaken?

EDIT: Also, I build Morgana pure AP on top lane, with maybe 1-2 survivability items. Would it be smarter to sacrifice some damage for some more survivability?
