4.7 Patch [Hotfix]

"After 4.7 went live, we realized people were still trying to play Kha'zix, despite our efforts to make sure they can't. We feel his ability to capitalize on poor enemy positioning or their 1/5th hp just made too much sense, and doesn't follow our design philosophies of never punishing bad mistakes and making assassins unimportant threats. These very minor tweaks are aimed at hitting his viability as the character we designed and delivered him as, and solidfifying his role as a bruiser (because he is a bruiser, and we will nerf him every time someone tries to play him any other way). Hopefully after these changes, we will have added sufficient "counterplay" to this "toxic" character (don't question us, we used our buzzwords so whatever we do is totally justified now)."

Unseen Threat: Kha'zix's isolation bonus added too much power to his ability to punish you for not warding, not paying attention to his location, and not being careful around an assassin (sorry, bruiser. He's a bruiser now. Nobody say otherwise). As such, we have removed all it's effects, replacing them with:

"Kha'zix's basic attacks now do 1 bonus true damage to lane minions only"

We will be keeping an eye on this change, in case that extra pushing power becomes a problem.

Taste Their Fear: Kha'zix simply had too much viability as an actual skill that did actual damage. To mitigate some of his ability to contribute to anything, we have removed all scaling from Taste Their Fear. It now..

"does 40 / 45 /50 / 55 / 60 damage to non-isolated targets. When using Taste Their Fear on an isolated target, a buff is applied to the enemy, causing them to do 100% bonus damage to Kha'zix for the rest of the game. Kha'zix also receives a buff, causing Taste Their Fear to deal 10% bonus damage to baron for the next 2 seconds"

We will be keeping an eye on this too. If this results in Kha'zix having too much objective control, we will tweak the numbers.

Void Spikes: Void spikes provides Kha'zix with way too much on one ability. I mean range, damage, slows, AND a heal!?!? What were we thinking!?!? We're sorry about this, hopefully this fixes the problem. Void Spikes is now..

"a melee range skill shot with a 2 second channel time. If it hits an enemy they are slowed by 10%, but heal 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+ 50% their max health)."

Hopefully this'll introduce some significant decision making for Kha'zix players.

Leap: After removing 60% of the bonus AD scaling on Leap, we thought this skill would've been balanced. But we feel as if his mobility is too high, especially since every other melee champion has this much or more mobility. As such, we have removed all damage from Leap and locked it to half it's previous range, as well as tripling it's cooldown.

Void Assault: We have removed Void assault. It was too hard to balance. We have replaced it with Heimerdinger's ultimate, "UPGRADE!!". It works exactly like Heimerdinger's ultimate, except Kha'zix has none of Heimerdinger's skills. So you can't use it. Hopefully that'll fix the balancing.

As a side note, it was too hard to make all of Kha'zix's evolutions equally valuable. As such, all his evolutions are now..

"Kha'zix can dance for 3 seconds longer"

We hope that this is something the community as a whole will be happy with. We felt that...

-proper positioning

-map awareness

-health management

-warding

-any armor at all

-pre-6 agression

-teamfight awareness

-any CC at all

-focusing

-range

-harass

-burst

-peel

-escapes

-flash, exhaust, heal, barrier

-we're tired this list is longer than we though

..was not enough "counterplay" and have tried with these changes to introduce more openings for you to wreck Kha'zix without him being even close to a threat.

We recognize that some of you may have concerns with the direction we're taking Kha'zix, but rest assured, we don't give a damn, and have no intention of addressing any thread on the subject, giving any compensation buffs, reverting him back to being what he was designed to be, or in general acknowledging the champion exists except to nerf him. Get over it. Anyone complains and we'll Rengarize him more.

I feel like…maybe OP played Kha'zix a lot before and he isn't so happy about the nerfs. I'm getting that very subtle vibe in this post. Has anyone else noticed?
