Are mid lain assassins dead??

I have to give the credit of this idea to the youtuber RedMercy, but when I watched one of his video recently I realized that in the current meta mid lain assassins like or are just not viable any more. Riot has ether ignored it or just doesnt care enough to give these champs some help and instead is killing this role even more by making anti assassin mid lainers more viable. I really hope that riot takes this into consideration and gets those anti assassin mid lainers back to their rightful role ........ support.

The only anti-assassin midlaners who come to mind are Lulu and Kayle. Both of which have been or are seeing nerfs. If anything, they're trying to make anti-assassin mids less viable.

More likely is that the return of Heal / Exhaust just makes it harder to pull off a successful assassination. Not sure what can be done about that, because I'm not sure anyone really wants the return of an older meta. Yet.

And there are several reasons the three assassins you listed are weak. Akali Diana Are low-counterplay, and Riot doesn't like having low-counterplay champions in the spotlight very often. There's more to it, but that's the gist. And Zed has seen a bunch of indirect nerfs to his itemization - namely, the shift in item 3153 's power from it's active (which Zed uses) to its passive (which Zed doesn't use).

Until Riot decides that they want an assassin meta again, you'll just have to adapt to the current one.
