Ways to build Darius... All damage or slight tank?

Hey summoners :) whats up? Buddhabob, Buddha for short, here with just a general champ build question. Darius... High damage or slightly tankie? I recently just got Darius and haven't been able to really test him with a build yet and i thought of doing this: BC, Statik Shiv, Youmuu's Ghostblade, Berserker's Greaves, Blade of the Ruined King, and IE.

That's a heavy movement speed and armor pen. build that i thought of but i know that Darius is a small tank, so I might throw on Warmog's and a Sunfire Cape instead of Shiv and Ghostblade. I don't know if either of these will work very well and criticism is much appreciated on this :) If you guys can think of any better items to throw on here that would be very helpful as well since i'm planning on maining Darius for season 4 to work my way up through ranked so i can go to the championship.

You can go full damage darius, but not with that build. You need cc'd reduction in there somewhere. Also a GA is a must. But in all honesty, unless you are in bronze/silver/maybe gold, full damage darius doesnt work. Best build for darius so far imo, after a few hundred darius games, is tri force/hydra + lw/black cleaver, then tanky items based on the situation. Full ad darius build is better with a hydra bt and a black clever + GA.

Black Cleaver or Ravenous Hydra are both great picks, but Statik Shiv is a bad move, as Darius relies on his abilities more than his autoattacks to deal damage. You can get by without an attack speed item.

This might sound funny, but I would recommend building only one of those items, pick either Black Cleaver or Ravenous Hydra and immediately build a tank item. Personally, I go with Locket of Iron Solari, because if you don't get that aura, you're really only contributing pure damage to a team fight.

Darius has pretty low mobility, and is a really direct champ. He doesn't have any way to move in and out of a fight, so you really need to build a tank item because you'll be taking a lot of damage to the face as you slowly run at the enemy. With his insane damage scaling you can get by with just one or two good damage items, but in the meantime you're easily kited or burst down, and a tank item or two can remedy that.

TLDR: To teamfight with Darius, you have to stand in the front lines, and that hurts. Build a tank item second to survive!

Hmm I have never gone a full blown Darius build before. Most I have ever done was Bork and Ghostblade (in 3's mind you). I just find that Darius's passive is the trick while dueling. So attack speed and cooldown on abilities is really nifty for getting those stacks up nice and quick. Then you can pop your ult getting the most out of it. Aside from that, I still prefer building more tank since Darius doesn't have all that much mobility and can get kited hard core if you miss his pull.

But yeah I mean give your build a shot. Definitely look into movement speed items/quints

I go 1-2 damage items then tank. Usually its BC, Hyrdra, the sunfire or Locket, then maw if they have AP burst.
