Suggestions for Graves

Now that our friend Lucian essentially has a Graves dash except better (free, lower cooldown, better refresh tool), I was thinking that our favourite moustachioed shotgun bandit could use some loving, specifically on his Quickdraw (E). Here's what I propose:

I adjusted the damage to suit the changes to Quickdraw below while smoothing out the mana cost curve, since Graves is a tad mana hungry.

  • Buckshot (Q)
  • Mana Cost: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 ⇒ 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80
  • Damage: 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+ 80% bonus AD) ⇒ 45 / 80 / 115 / 150 / 185 (+ 65% bonus AD)
  • Falloff damage: 35% ⇒ 40%

I've increased the reward the Graves player receives for dashing toward an enemy champion to land Q or get in range for R, but reduced his overall damage output over time. This is solidify Graves' identity as a "burst-Marksman". Graves players who weave offensive dashes (which will enjoy a shortened cooldown) with defensive dashes will find optimal positioning easier to access.

  • Quickdraw (E)
  • Cooldown: 22 / 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 seconds ⇒ 17/15/13/11/9 seconds
  • 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70% Attack Speed ⇒ Removed
  • Basic attacks reduce cooldown by 1 second ⇒ Removed
  • Now grants a buff that increases the damage of his next Q or R by 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30%
  • Reduces cooldown by .5 Seconds per enemy hit by Q or R (doubled on champions)

Again, just a small change to compensate for the damage amp. I agree that Graves' ult does need a little extra oomph, I'm just not quite sure how to do it.

  • Collateral Damage (R)
  • Primary target damage: 250 / 350 / 450 (+ 150% bonus AD) ⇒ 225 / 310 / 395 (+ 120% bonus AD)
  • Secondary damage: 200 / 280 / 360 (+ 120% bonus AD) ⇒ 180 / 250 / 320 (+100% bonus AD)

Overall, these changes are aimed at actually rewarding Graves for getting in his enemies' faces. I'm no designer (though I'd like to be), but this is the kind of direction I'd like to see Riot take. If you're a Graves enthusiast please do not hesitate to comment, just be gentle ;)

I've always thought the coolest thing to add to graves would be a tiny bit of utility as a reward for going in for the big burst Q. I'm talking about a very small, say, minimum range Vi Q level knockback. Just enough to push the enemy out of melee autoattack range, or into a waiting smoke grenade. Something that rewards the real ballsy risk/reward play that a shotgun toting badass should represent.
