Request: Reduce MMR of unranked players to prevent matchmaking disasters

###Problem:

Matchmaking considers fully unranked players to be mid-silver tier

###Proposal:

Place unranked players at some point in bronze; alternatively, put stricter requirements on matchmaking for unranked players.

Hello friends!

I'm a measly silver player and just lost a promotion series in a strong sweep of misfortune by being placed with 3 teammates who were not only unranked, but had never even played a ranked game before. Not unexpectedly, the enemy team had 15 kills by the 12:00 mark.

To my understanding, the matchmaking algorithm gradually widens its search net over time until a full team is found. This is sensible, as being trapped in a queue for more than a few minutes is no fun for anyone.

What isn't sensible to me is having a system set up such that 3 players with 0 ranked games can be matched with 2 players with over 300 this season.

When the elo system was in place, it made sense for players to start at 1200, as elo is designed to be a stable system in which points gained for one side equal points lost for the other.

With elo deprecated and replaced by a hidden MMR and visible ladder, it doesn't seem quite rational to place an inexperienced player at an arbitrary mid point of the ladder.

My philosophy with League is that every game is winnable, but this match was spectacularly one-sided. While I'm not enraged by this stroke of bad luck, I was excited to win this series and feel there wasn't a proper opportunity to display my skill and win.

Thanks for reading!

I feel for you here. Now were they completely fresh account or did they play ranked last season?

Completely fresh account should not be allowed to play in people promos without 10 games or duo with that person. ( you would be crazy unless you knew it was meatos on a smurf.)

But if they play last season there should be no barrier.

thats my 2 cents
