So...Master Yi with Feral Flare
Ok. I have been playing A LOT of Yi jungle with the new wriggles evolution item. It's quite good, but has a few flaws IMHO. (List Time!)
GOOD THINGS:
- Scaling. The main thing that would stop a fed Yi from just destroying is when he stops scaling. Once other people get to full build too, he just can't keep up. Feral Flare lets him scale further. He can get a scaling amount of health on-hit with no cap that I've hit.
- Ward Range. Master Yi, being so squish and all, is very vulnerable to getting caught out. If their APC pulls his full combo on your face, you are most likely dead. With the increased Ward Range from Feral Flare, you can check bushes from an obscene distance.
- Health on hit and why its better than mana sustain. Bit of a complicated one here, but another solid reason. Yi is fairly mana hungry, at least when you have to meditate all the time. Spirit Stone items solve this. You get a percentage of the damage you deal back as health. 6% comes back as Health and 3% for Mana. This would be a seemingly easy choice on Yi as he need the mana. I found, however, that getting 10 Health +scale. Since Yi has a fairly high attack speed, and can clear a camp pretty quickly with just autos and no mana invested, this works much better. If you have to use an additional 50 mana every time meditate is up to heal more.
BAD THINGS:
- Few Ganks. This one here is the main flaw I PERSONALLY have with powerfarming Yi. I can clear until I die, but if my laners go 0-4 because I wasn't ganking while their jungler was, we are already far behind. The way I play Yi is a roll of the dice sometimes. If they have a team comp who can go for the early kills and go for the lane bully style, and they secure a jungler like Lee or Vi who can gank constantly, our laners will lose. HARD. (Side note- I run into this problem the most when playing with people whom I normally play with. As a jungle main, they usually can guarantee ganks if I am playing Vi or Udyr etc. They have gotten used to having gank-heavy jungle pressure, instead of late game.)
- Low Health. This one could be VERY, VERY easily abused by the enemy. When I play Master Yi, I may be able to clear 15+ camps on average before recalling. Usually staying out around 10min does them mark. I straight up buy wriggles, then work towards statikk shiv. This means taking 2nd Buffs. This gets dicey. If the enemy jungler decided to try and steal my second blue, I would be a free kill and blue.
