Idea to fix (completely change) Essence Reaver
Warning: I got carried away with the 'item-tagging' system.. I couldn't help myself
You guys need to look back into
.. The recipe is extremely expensive and the mana-return passive is almost useless by the time you purchase the item. That, or it's to the point where it's better to have mana problems + a
than no mana problems and an

It's just too expensive and doesn't solve your mana problems because it takes too long to where you rather wish you had a
because your mana problems aren't that pronounced anymore. This "AD Carry Mana Item" is just too darn expensive.. Look at the mages on the rift.. They get
for 700 and
for 880, but carries are gimping their lategame with a subpar item that does the same thing the previous items do except it's a whopping 3.4k, and not only that, but NONE of the items it builds from contain any sort of mana or mana regen!!!
is only 300 more gold and the sheen component pretty much solves the "AD Caster Carry" mana issues of carries like
,
,
,
, and even
....
Also, I'd like to mention, that I don't think ADs are in need of a powerful, high-AD item that gives mana. ADs depend on outscaling, so they build Damage, Crit, Attack Speed, and Lifesteal. Any stat that is not one of those 4 doesn't scale as well as they do on ADs and the mana return isn't that great when it's compared to something like a consistant "mini-barrier" you get every fight out of a
However, I do think that something like this MIGHT work if you plugged the mana in somewhere else. What I am saying is, you can't put it onto a
or an
. Both of those items build from a total 3 components in the shop... But you can try to create another item that would give a multitude of small stats with a high recipe cost that scales well.. Look at
. It builds out of !6! items!! If you could find a way to make some sort of low-cost AD item that's made out of, say
x2 and an
or a
, that builds into an
'esque item w/ some sort of good active, it would work better than the current Reaver. Then, you could take whatever you have there, and slap on
x2, or a
(or some other sort of AD scaling stat item) and then have it all combine into a final item with a fantastic passive/active, much like how
works.
