Suppordle - Whatever you do with her, please don't break her as support.

So I've been reading through PBE changes for Lulu. As I do understand that these changes are tenative and are subject to change, I ask you to really treat her carefully.

I am a support Lulu main and I have almost 1400 total games with her.

First off, I'd like to note that most of the traditional support champions have been hit hard in the 3.14 patch, due to increased gold flow and added utility scaling.

To Lulu, this meant she lost 0.2 offensive scaling on her E - Help, Pix! along with 5% speed boost and 30AP boost on her W - Whimsy. In return she was given 0.1 scaling on her W speed boost, 0.15 scaling on her passive and can block 20 more damage early with her E.

To me, this was a straight nerf since my typical build consists of: Talisman, Sightstone, Locket, Crucible, Randuin and boots. Because well, I lost 5% movement speed and 20 damage on my E and Q - Glitterlance if I cast W on myself as well as losing AP boost to my APC.

With the current PBE changes, she can no longer shield minions, which means no more farm denying (Pix is still moved), Pix duration on enemy cast is now 4 seconds (down from 6), which means Kha'Zix (who now tends to evolve R first) will be able to get away from me with his 3 charges of 2 second stealth, Rengar will have easier time getting away if ulting and also makes her unable to double cast Q on an enemy with Pix even with 40% cooldown reduction. Also, E base damage at max rank has been lowered by 80, which is huge for a support with 0 AP.

As a support: She is fine as support. She can deal with current top picks like Annie, Leona and Thresh and is weak against the likes of Sona or Soraka.

As a mid laner: She always was a lane bully and I'd like it to stay that way. She has been played mid before and she paid a price for it (0.7 -> 0.5 ratio, -20 damage, 40-60 -> 60-80 mana cost on her Q). What made her return to that lane is that due to utility scaling on her W she can harass you endlessly and get away with it (note that her E scaling has been lowered in 3.14 patch from 0.6 to 0.4).

IMHO with the current changes, her role as support has been hurt the most. On mid she will still have that sick escape, she will still catch you, she will still bully you out of lane or kill you, it will just take her longer (if even, you rarely hit both casts of Q off of single E). Where as support, her utility and damage have been hindered. I no longer see point in casting E on enemies, no more double Qs, when it was hard to hit them anyway. Might as well max W for increased polymorph duration.

Halve (or even lower) her W scaling which is the biggest problem, might as well lower Q and decay scaling, hell even her passive, but whatever you do, please don't touch her base values. Her base and scalings are already lower or on the line with other supports and if the changes make it through, I see no value in picking her over Karma or even Zilean (not to even mention Leona, Thresh or Annie).

Also, I would like to ask you if the change about not shielding minions goes through, that you do the same with Karma and Soraka. Sure she can fire Q from it, but she wastes 2 cooldowns and mana, while Soraka can make a minion tank atleast 4 turret shots (health and bonus armor).

For me, supports should provide utility. With the changes to gold income, anyone with any form of CC can be played in the support role. I hate seeing supports as 2nd carries (yes Annie, Lissandra, Rengar, Pantheon, Ziggs,... I'm looking at you) which is also why I don't build AP items on supports. The longer I'm there to slow, polymorph or speed, the better.
