It...it was kind of cringey, and forced, and was hardcore PC pandering, so I'm not surprised.
Having just watched it, that was pretty cringe worthy. I think the best part may have been the Primitive Tech guy making the clip at the end.
It feels like in the "everyone make a wish!" part they just lost what made any individual contributor special, and after that all they could fall back on was "everyone likes playing this video game, right?"
Simone's brain tumor was something her viewers were really nervous about with her, and I think it was good to bring it up in the video, but they did it in a "this is what we shared" instead of "this is what brought the community together" way. Feels like it could have been a "everyone felt this" instead of "some people did this" moment.
Then again, I don't think I've ever got much out of any YouTube rewind. There's a handful of faces I recognize for a moment, and a bunch of people I have never seen before, won't know what they do, and won't see again.
it wasn't even recommended to me, so I haven't seen it.
