I always disliked the dark star skins and these are no different. I'll wait for them to get ACTUAL star guardian skins.
The only one I really like so far is Neeko. The other ones aren't colorful and pastel enough...Riot, that's_ the whole point_ of the SG line...
As someone who has steadily adored Star Guardians since Lux, I feel these are both unfitting and very meh, even if they are well-made animations. Very sad to say, as I've waited 2 years for them

I mean, while I love the whole "Star Guardian Xayah is corrupted into being a dark star" and vice versa with Rakan, that's still not what I want to see, with how devoted I am to the Star Guardian universe. Make a VS event, if you must.
A lot of people don't seem to be understanding the concept and lore behind these skins. They're corrupted and supposedly Ahri's lost teammates. Arhi's w and her little sprite have 3 stars that go around them, one green, one blue and one yellow, these are the new skins/champions in this video. I personally actually like that League has thought about their lore and story for these skins, rather than just bringing out what everyone would want. Who knows, there may even be Chroma's later on like the Reckoning ones which shows their true forms. Would be pretty cool.
Alright, I think waiting 2 years for these has been an awful waste of time. I do think the lore will be worth waiting for however. I'm not mad because of Taliyah not getting a skin, us Tali mains learned how to get over the depression of her not getting a skin, nor am I made about Zoe getting another skin. My problem is how they somehow turned the most beautiful and colorful skin set into light Dark Stars. Even somehow having the little Dark Star flare on Xayah and Rakan. Yes, they obviously did this for the lore. Yes, the little recall scene between Xayah and Rakan is cute as hell. But even so, could we have not just had the Star Guardian skins turn into corrupted skins in the recall? That makes so much more sense. I get that it's something different, but changing the whole tone of the skin line and making it almost identical to another isn't how you should do that.
Also, Neeko being there is purely for money. I highly doubt that Neeko was in Ahri's team and not Zoe. We know that the team is either Ahri, MF, Xayah, Rakan and most likely Zoe. Those 3 being corrupted by Syndra. They took the concept of having 3 corrupted Star Guardians and turned it into a four champion skin set and gave the prestige to Neeko who wasn't in the original team, dictated by her not being corrupted. Now we have 3 teams, and just Neeko chillin'. I don't know how they'll write her into the lore.

And really, Xayan and Rakan? Pshh. I think they are suited for it as much as I felt Neeko was. Disappointment.
On the other hand though, they are like wayyyyyyy dark vs the original 2 sets. Though that teaser did show the "before her darkness burns you away" moment. So something must have been corrupting them. Either that or maybe they used Chromas like they did on the Elderwood Ahri preview?
So are these (except for Neeko I guess) supposed to be partially corrupted or something?
Zoe: Doesn't look like a Star Guardian. The "Dark" Guardian is Syndra and trying to go for a colour pattern darker than hers ruined the skin
Rakan: A Star Guardian tempted by the Darkstar's and turning into one in his backing animation. Interesting Idea.
Xayah: The complete opposite of Rakan. A Darkstar finding the light in the Star Guardians and becoming one in her backing animation.
Intersting contrast to her and Rakan's love, both become the other's ally to become friendlies but end up BOTH switching sides which in turn preserves their alleigance as enemies.
Neeko: A proper star Guardian, she seems to have bright orange patterns bleachy enough to differencialize her from MF. But another colour pattern entirely should have been considered.
...... Worst Star Guardian skins ever. Clearly bad choices, only one that looks good is Neeko. Otherwise these are very disappointing.

tbh i think these are the best Star Guardian skins so far. quality is good (for once xayah and rakan have a skin thats worth buying )so i guess its just subjective.
Nobody seems to be getting the point here. If you watch the Ahri trailer from 2017 she is holding 3 gems from fallen Star Guardians. These Star Guardians are Zoe, Xayah and Rakan. If you watch the Xayah and Rakan voice interactions video, you will know that Zoe is the corrupt Star Guardian who corrupts Xayah and Rakan. She is their leader, but they also despise her. These skins are based on the lore, not who would look pretty in an SG skin. I am a Sona main and would have loved for a SG Sona skin for her. But the lore will go onto explain how the 3 fallen SG's fell when the skins release which I am excited for. Xayah and Rakan have a lot of beef with Ahri and MF if you listen to the voice interactions.

I see a new trend riot stated this year with returning skins like they did with PROJECT. The new PROJECT skins doesn't look like old PROJECT skins (bleached hair, a single main glowing color) and it's happening the same to star guardian. What was wrong with the old formula? I like that they are colorful and clean, If I wanted the opposite I'll just buy a Dark star skin.
IMO I really wish riot would work on other skin lines or give urgot his star guardian skin.
I personally don't really like star guardian anyways but it would just be incredible if urgot got that skin :(

Zoe did NOT get the prestige edition skin for this line. I'm still in the clear to dodge these scummy prestige edition cash grabs.
All I want is Star Guardian Xayah to have a blue outfit and Neeko to have a yellow one to actually match the three gems Ahri had in New Horizon video...
