"Why we should buff more than nerf."

So we can end up with bloated numbers and absurd masteries and over the top damage?

We already have absurd masteries and over the top damage. And it has very little to do with buffing/nerfing in general. It was more changing a balanced system to an absurdly broken system.

Buffing what's weak to keep up with what's strong is a different scenario than you're suggesting entirely.

The goal would be to make them the save relative power as a certain benchmark, not make them more powerful. Nowhere is anyone logical actually saying "ONLY buff or ONLY nerf" as a design philosophy.

Its unforunate that for riot to keep a benchmark, they have to CHOOSE a benchmark for each class of champion, and to be honest theres simply FAR to many classes for that to be viable. The whole "you can do this OR this!" is also a problem, because it means that you have to let a champion itemize properly for both and therefore items have to be carefully tuned for specific champions who use them to well.

Honestly there should be four kinds of champions: Tanks Mages Marksman Fighters Having those four be the ONLY classes would be fantastic and allow for a better balance... instead we have all these combinations of different kinds of champions. theres even some which are more or less the same but have different emphasis... Dive fighters vs bruisers for example. They have similar kits, similar roles, but dive fighters have more emphasis on damage where bruisers have more on HP.

But then what would you consider a benchmark for each? Personally.... Braum is a fantastic tank. He requires one simple change to be non-pigeon holed into support, which would improve his viability tremendously. Varus is a benchmark ADC. His primary goals involve siege and objective taking with some good teamfight mixed in. Draven is another example of a benchmark ADC. Anivia Is a benchmark mage. Mages should be capable of easily clearing waves with fully maxed abilities and have good team fight ability. Anivia is a great team fighter capable of turning a losing fight. MasterYi Is a benchmark fighter. Fighters should have the mobility to catch up and stick while doing a decent amount of damage. WHere marksman should have a good team fight, fighters should be the flipside where their teamfight isnt all there but their skirmish and pick abilities are strong.

Bruiser, diver, assassin, juggernaut, they shouldnt even be types of champions. They should be community monickered "this champion does this really well" things so that players can more easily diversify and specialize their champion pool.

This isn't applicable, really. Learn to actually comprehend the content in his videos.

Nowhere does the video state that buffing for the sake of balance to keep content that is supposed to be relevent...well...relevent is a bad thing.

Besides, the video even gives LoL as an example of a non-powercreeped game, when they're by far one of the worst offenders in the past few seasons.

I don't feel like the video applies to league, because in fighters, you could just buff some C,D tier characters, and slightly nerf the top tier. The top tier will likely always remain top tier. Shifts in meta don't happen in fighters like they do in league.

Where as in league, if you want to buff the C tier and lower, thats like 80 champions at any point lol. Some indirect change will cause a drastic shift, like keystones, then what? roll out like 80 more buffs/nerfs lol
