Why did you remove this

A couple of years ago you removed one of the coolest features in league! The "public viewing" in the client. Why?

I much preferred watching the "random public" games. It gave the community a tiny opportunity to show up on the client and have an audience. It gave you something neat to look forward to. And as a viewer it was more entertaining to watch because it covered all skill levels. So you caught a glimpse of what to expect from each skill level. These "streamers" are usually high ELO masterminds who can pull off things the average player can't. And then on the other spectrum you have Tits McGee in Bronze V raging about her teammates instead of playing the game while everyone just stares at her disgusting cleavage. Please bring back the public viewership games. It was a neat and entertaining feature.

Agree, I liked it a lot and used quite frequently

They said they're working on bringing it back.

Not sure when though.

So long ago. I doubt they're doing anything to bring it back in reality. I think they may just be purposefully letting it die as quietly as they can to roll over for streaming "service" websites like twitch.

Shame too. It seemed to be coded better than twitch, and you could watch anyone in the game, and you never had to deal with annoying or shitty twitch personalities/communities.

Source?

It was said about 6 months after the new client was released here on the boards. I'll see if I can find the source, but that's a lot of red posts to track down.

I too would like it to come back. It was nice. However, we always have streamers to watch too! :)

Thought it was due to the new client. It'll come back eventually, but it doesn't seem to be an immediate priority. Least not publicly immediate... ironically.

It was gone long before the new client.

I believe some Rioter said that it might come back at some point, a choice which I wholeheartedly support

The worst thing they removed is Normal games wins totals from your profile when they released the new client. I had over 2,000 wins and all those were thrown away along with the old client. Now I have nothing to show for it. I made a few threads about it that gained lots of upvotes and plenty of attention. Riot just never cared.

You can still see your normal wins and losses in result screens.

Malicious Fury1 votes

That doesn't show all of them. Not even close. I have nearly a thousand of my wins missing. People with not a lot of wins from early seasons tried arguing what you stated, but it simply doesn't show all of them. It shows just the ones since they switched it to a new queue. I should have well over 2,300 wins, it doesn't even show 2,000 yet on that screen.

Oh, that I wasn't aware of. I personally find my win/loss count to be pretty believable though, but maybe I'm just not an old enough player to have a say here.

i liked watching random peoples games. sometime i dont or cant play but like to watch games and i dont want to go on twitch to watch only high elo games. It was nice

Doozku1 votes

I think they removed it because they don't to drag viewers away from twitch. I don't remember exactly but I think that's the reason.

Same. It was very nice, made the game feel popular at the same time as well (even though everyone knows that)

I even made a friend out of those, and he end up giving me real good advice :)

Oh, yeah, I loved this. Whenever I saw a game with my main in it (or anything I was interested in to play, like Kata), I immediately started to watch. Please, let me spectate pros playing my favorite champions again.

I honestly forgot about this feature but now that I'm reminded I miss it more than ever. Curses.
