Yasuo mains thoughts on balancing yasuo

Yasuo is a major problem at the moment and instead of giving him a full rework i think he could be made better by some changes to his w and passive First of all, wind wall seems to be a major problem, it seems to be an unfair game mechanic and honestly it isnt a necessary part of his kit. Instead i would suggest moving yasuo's double crit passive onto his w and having it scale with ability level (e.g. making his crit deal less damage at level one say 65% on autos and 50% on his q and at level 5 making it scale up to around 90% on his autos and 75% on his q like it is currently, this would make his early game much weaker and make the player be forced to choose between having higher mobility by maxing E first or having higher damage and less mobility by maxing his w. his passive could stay as the flow shield passive and maybe with some number tweaks this could work.

Doesnt solve anything, but only makes Yasuo even weaker. Yasuo isn't obnoxious in lane because of his windwall and his passive only. All of his abilities are very situational and can only be useful in certain scenarios.

Yasuo needs something to stack his Q with. In lane he has all the minions he need Yasuo needs something to dash to when using his E. Again, minions are there. Yasuo needs either to stack his Q (minions) or his team to allow him to use his ultimate. Yasuo needs to move fast in order to recharge his shield as fast as possible.

Yasuo's W is actually the only free ability of his kit, that gives him options to survive even out of lane. Why remove that?

Yasuo's kit is so dedicated to lane, that Riot has target nerfed his laning phase. Q stack duration lowered, E damage lowered to keep people from maxing E and be litterally untouchable early on. He has very low base health.

Laning against a Yasuo is no fun, because a good Yasuo will be able to win trades no matter what he does. The champion is so good in lane, that the only way to lose lane is if you mess up and overextend.

His mid game is horrible since most of fights occur around sieges and tight jungle areas where Yasuo's power is very limited. Yasuo also doesn't have enough damage to oneshot, or survive diving if his team isnt with him all the way when he goes deep in.

Take a champion like Fiora. She can freely use her Q at any time. She has an ability that blocks ALL incoming damage for nearly a second ontop of having a point-and-click ultimate that ends up dealing roughly 80% of targets health in TRUE damage.

In lane, Yasuo has much more. Out of lane, Yasuo is dependant on his team to follow up on his engage

This. I used to main yas, but because of his constant banning, i switched to teemo. I never thought he was any more op than lee sin. If you play right, you will win, and your enemy can't do anything. If you make a mistake, it will be punished hard.

It is not even that. If you have a team that suits yasuo, you win. If the enemy has too much CC and peel, you lose.

Countering Yasuo is so god damn easy (something most of the league community cant/wont admit they can). Just survive lane to watch him go in, get CC'd and kill himself. Every time.

Previously, Azir has been my go-to pick when facing Yasuo. Super long range so he doesnt have to stand near minions in lane. Super hard disengage vs. Yasuo's ultimate, good zoning when Yasuo dashes through your creeps and snowballs VERY hard vs. him.

I don't know how many kills i've gotten from knocking cocky yasuo players into my turret and kill them. Kind of giving up on Azir atm tho since i cant seem to have any relevance in the mid game either...

Ehh, i think it's a little debatable on needing a team that suits yas and the enemy team having too much cc. If they do have too much cc and you don't have any knockups on your team besides yas's you'll probably lose, but, you could always ignore teamfights and splitpush.

He is very easy to counter too. Fiora is a much more bullshit champ. Yas can't parry ignite, and if he dashes over teemo shrooms, they still trigger.

Yes, there is a lot more options for someone like Fiora to defend themselves. Yasuo's windwall definetely blocks projectiles, but it doesn't stop tanks from engaging on him, and it doesn't stop most supports from peeling their teammates

you could always ignore teamfights and splitpush.

Very true. I also think it's a big part of the reason PD is rated better than Statikk Shiv even when Statikk statisically is more bought by other champions and previously has made a lot of sense to get on Yasuo.

But becasue how situational his teamfighting is, it is just better some times to splitpush

Not a main but I've held this idea for a year and a half now about using yasuo's flow to fuel windwall. Keep the shield portion, that works the same way, but when you cast windwall, it drains your entire flow bar no matter how much you have and the duration of the wall lasts proportional to the amount spent with at least a base minimum of something like .25 or .5 seconds so even if you are at 0 flow, you can still use it as a quick projectile cancel because it wouldn't be fair to not be able to cast it. So at 0 flow, you could still block that Morgana's Q or jinx rocket, just gotta cast it right before it hits you. But, it'll last only that tiny bit.

However at full flow, it will last the whole time. I'd even be fine with a compensation buff where max flow provides even a longer windwall than now, maybe up from 4 to 4.5 or hell even maybe 5. But otherwise, you'll have to think if you want to blow your flow instead of casting it to cancel anything you please with only a cd gating you.

It will also cut some tankiness and not allow him to come out of blocking all projectiles with a full shield to boast. And if he goes in and gets hit first thing, he can still quickly cast the windwall to block any oncoming onslaught with any remaining flow he has. I think it would add a bit more decision making than just dashing onto someone and beating them in the face casting windwall for 4 seconds to prevent counterattack.

The main problems are his windwall and his SHIELD NOTTTTT the cirt.

I've wondered if slightly increasing the cooldown on his Q and letting whirlwind stacks only build on champ hits but only needing to charge once would solve a lot of his problems. That would make his safe waveclear a little weaker, prevent him from zoning his lane opponent constantly, and improve his consistency when minions aren't around (which would let him get nerfed a little numerically since he is overtuned partially due to his kit being weaker without minions to abuse). It certainly wouldn't solve all his issues but it would weaken his lane and while his teamfight would be a bit better the lowered gold he should have from the lane would help compensate.
