Officially naming this season the practice season

I'm done with league for this season in terms of taking it serious, I'm done getting that one guy, boosted or not, completely lose me the game because he dies solo to the enemy laner 7 times before the 16 minute mark, I'm done with people coming into ranked without having a ranked attitude, I'm done watching people have zero map awareness about things that could of been 100% avoidable but instead walk right into it, I'm done getting matched with pre mades that coordinate better than the pre made that gets placed on my team if I even get a pre made to match up, I'm done watching people in champ select pick one trick ponies or knowingly counter pick themselves into the enemy laner, I'm done with Riots reworks completely breaking a champion and if he isn't banned, the odds of winning the game go from the supposedly 50/50 to 60/40, I'm done with the people who give up when it's 10 kills to 4 saying the game is unwinnable, I'm done seeing a person leave in the middle of a winning game and make it a 4v5 to make it a losing game, I'm done watching how much of a snowball games have become especially with the new "first blood" turret, I'm done with the competitive side of league because there is no competitive side of league anymore

I'd agree with ranked being "Cancer", but considering most forms of it take months/years to kill people and the games barely last 10mins before one team has a massive advantage I'd have to use a different word. If anything, ranked is like a waterboarding session in which the longlasting effects (not wanting to play this game anymore due to hating the people who play it) can often be permanent.

Yeah, this season is basically normals with superior matchmaking. On the one hand, people flaunt their rank less and don't use it to put players down as much. On the other, it's because they no longer give a shit about it since it's less about individual skill.

Well said sir.

Don't worry. They'll bring back solo que next year.

Coca-cola made a similar mistake once.

Why just this season then? Aside from your complaint about premades (and turret first blood, for whatever reason), these problems have existed for years.

Vistha Kai2 votes

Except those problems got much worse.

Like, before you'd get hit by a car at 30mph, now you get run over by a truck going well over 60.

Mr Fidori2 votes

Like which ones? I can't think of any that weren't exactly as bad (or to me, not even a real issue) as they are now.

Like a person with Gold 3 ELO getting matched with 2 Silvers, because they are a premade with a Gold 1. Like increased snowballing, because earning gold and assists increases your worth for the enemy team, even if you are 0/10. Like getting permanent damage buffs for the whole team.

When would this even happen with any frequency?

This is the only one that's unique to this season. But, someone will always be unhappy. First people thought games were too long and static, now they're too snowbally and quick (even though neutral objectives make comebacks pretty easy).

They've always been there, just now some of them are permanent. So (finally) objectives mean something, rather than just saying "let them have it and wait it out". Though it is your right to see this as a bad thing.

In my every other ranked game. Why?

Yeah, because being pushed to your base before 20 minute mark allows you to "make a comeback with neutral objectives".

Yeah, because a 24% AD/AP or 30% bonus true damage on towers buffs were surely there before.

If you managed, to stall the game for a buff on the enemy team to expire, that was either their mistake or you playing well.

  1. We have very different ranked games. BUT everyone has different experiences.

  2. Well, yes, if you manage to get pushed into your base before 20, it would very difficult.

  3. Of course. Shouldn't "you playing well" be the thing that allows you to do better? "You playing well" would also mean not allowing the enemy to take Infernal Dragon three times in a row.

Vistha Kai2 votes

1 . No. You may simply not want to check, but Silvers playing with Plats is consistent for ranked right now. I suppose it may be a different experience for you, since you are queueing with Bronze players, so there's that.

3 . Vision game is so trash this Season, you can't even ward for yourself, let alone ward objectives. Not to mention getting an early drake isn't a problem for most junglers.

  1. My normals are with my bronze friends, yes. My ranked games are primarily duo with my Silver friend, when not solo. Where'd you find the stats for silver vs. plats though? I'd gladly check if someone ever told me where this came from.

  2. Which would mean the other team should probably watch for the next one, if they are making the right decisions.

Your "Silver" friend is in Bronze 2.

Mr Fidori1 votes

Yeah, op.gg can be misleading can't it? It's almost like the person I've played the most games with recently (last 20 normal/ranked) isn't the person I've played most with this season.

bit off topic, but i'm really loving that username

More than half your complaints aren't from this season and existed in previous seasons too.
