Okay I have a question... Why is triforce built on AP champions when it is meant for AD attack speed champions I mean wtf has the league community done they made Ekko from an ap assassin into a tank and now you build attack speed, ad, and tank? I mean I wouldnt be surprised if I see katarina triforce at this rate or maybe even xerath triforce with dead man's plate.

Even though not every champ is going to build AD, the spell blade passive only works on the base AD anyways. And it works hard. A massive 200% extra physical damage.
As for many of your assassins. They're melee. They have a Melee's kit. And those kit's work extremely well with Bruiser and tank items.

Trinity Force used to give AP (Sheen used to give the AP) so it had stats that literally every champ in the game could use if they could afford it. Triforce has been built on pretty much everyone over the years. For assassins specifically - it offers awesome burst and extra Health, it's hard to turn that down if you can make it work.
Also the tankiness issue running rampant right now. Due to the lack of any real weaknesses for ranged champions most melee champions have always been better off building Tanky DPS items because at least that way they can live long enough to influence a fight. Any time a melee champ can go glass cannon and not be unplayable they're usually called overpowered and nerfed until Tanky DPS is their best bet. Sadly the only incentive Riot can offer to make horribly imbalanced tank builds not the optimal build path is insane burst damage. Otherwise they just get kneecapped by nerfs and left to rot in Eve-tier until a rework finally happens.

DeltaRaven1 votesThe thing with Ekko is that Tank Ekko of the past got gutted so that building tanky left you with little damage, Ekko has good base damages and his w passive execute which leads to him being a good skirmisher if he can stay in a fight. Ekko's Hit and Run style fits with the New Tri-Force well because it gives him a massive early power spike that lets him fight other carry top laners and deal good damage to tanks and carries. Plus it lets him split push fairly effectively, throw in a frozen mallet and your opponent can't get rid of you and lets you chase them down with autos and the slow on your Q.
The new Tri-force is just such a strong item that anyone who can utilize it good can now be a potential Top-tier pick, now in my eyes you need to fight Tri-force with Tri-force.
