Changes to Skarner's R

Skarner players are frustrated by the lack of range and Skarner opponents are frustrated by the point and click lock down. What if we made it so Skarner's R was more like Leona's E where it was an aimed ability giving Skarner slightly more range and the opponents an opportunity for counterplay?

So, Blitzcrank grab on an ult? Not really likely to be that helpful or satisfying. You'd still be very reliant on surprise flash-pulls and you'd have the added frustration of having a long cooldown on a skillshot initiation. It doesn't really fit his kit great because he already has a linear skillshot that fills some of the same goals in his E, which makes having another less interesting. It also wouldn't be anything but a hindrance for defensive use. You'd have to add some sort of new functionality beyond just range in order to make it work for him.

Skarner players are frustrated by the shit rework which didn't solve any of his problems but created 99 more, made his gameplay borderline linear and boring.

That is my friend the problem with skarner.
