Im Getting kind of fed up with whatever the Support Algorithm is for masteries.

Why is it that ever since I got lvl 6 with Leona I can't seem to get an S on any support to save my life?

Even games where I feel like I've done really well and participated a ton and did my job as well as I could I'm still coming up with A's

But the last game I played, this takes the cake.

The Game that im talking about was essentially a 4v5 for a good portion of the game, where Kennen decided he wanted to come back in the last 30 seconds of the game and that's it. And during that time we were playing from this disadvantage, we still managed to keep wards up, take baron, and down an inhibitor We couldn't have played better. My sightstone was almost always empty, and my ADC and Midlaner worked with me to secure as many objectives and gain as much vision as we could (Jax wouldnt reply to anything, go figure)

I'm not mad we lost that game.

I'm mad that playing support as of late feels anything except rewarding. Both my midlaner and my ADC got an S that game and I'm just sitting here like: http://img.pandawhale.com/83088-I-got-a-rock-gif-its-the-great-mP6z.gif

Honestly, I've mained support for quite a while, but If I can get more rewards in 10 jungle games than I can in 50 support games, then I can see why we are having a problem with keeping people playing the role.

To Quote Zirene, "It's not salt, it's just being real."

What do you guys think? Anyone else having issues? Feel free to share...

Try placing more wards and showing up for more of the kills.

The support algorithm doesn't seem to make much sense. You can ward, kill a dozen wards, and get 30 assists and still end up with A

@Deep Terror Nami "Try placing more wards"

Im not going to back just to fill my sightstone, that leaves my adc without someone protecting them (and even then I placed 36 wards) . As for showing up for kills, I was all over the map, I even went top several times to cover for our missing kennan and that alone netted me a double kill and 3-4 assists total. Honestly I dont know how much more I can back and roam without leaving the person I am supposed to protect very vulnerable. I back when I have enough gold to buy an item or two and maybe a pink as well as some health pots, it really doesnt make sense at all to be in base more than that.

I feel your struggle because I went through the same trying to get my Lvl 7 on Thresh. What I learned is that the game doesn't like supports dying LOL. So to combat this situation and especially on tanks like Thresh and Leona I rushed GA. Yea I know it's not very team productive and has a long CD but you'd be surprised how much dying actually affects the score. To get my S+ on Thresh and Lvl7 I would go GA>Rot>Locket. This way I was farming and pushing, taking towers and assured I got assists for shielding.

The game doesn't decide your rank, other players do. The coding for the grade system compares your performance to other players who played the same champion ( I think the role you're in also has an affect) and ranks you based on how well you did compared to them. So that unfortunately means that there are some leonas out there setting a pretty high bar and you aren't reaching it.

@Deep Terror Nami: Yeah, I'm trying, thanks for the advice too ;)

@HongChonGDong: Well if the bar is getting set ridiculously high then why isn't there some kind of moderation that keeps it in check even a little bit? If there's people playing Leona in Plat and placing X amount of wards and getting X and I'm in bronze placing a good amount of wards and getting a good amount of assists for my elo level, then why would the game judge me for that. Im not some immortal being, I'm trying to have fun, and part of that fun is getting a fitting grade when I do my job.

Your cs is fine as is your warding. It obviously could have gone higher, but it's adequate. The issue for this particular game is your kill participation percentage. 28/63 isn't even half. You want to shoot for around 65%. That's the big issue for this specific case.
