AFK Surrendering

Dear Riot,

I applaud the new feature of being able to surrender with no penalty to the players that are in the game. But I would like to suggest giving the person who caused the vote to take place a timing window to get back into the game to rule out a computer crash or something to that effect. Already I have been penalized 2 times for league crashing and not having enough time to reconnect before my team decides to vote to surrender. In both instances I would have been reconnected and in game quick enough as to not effect the outcome of the game. Because of this reason I would suggest giving the person who is not connected a 3.5-5 minute window to reconnect before the game would actually be forfeited. I now have lost LP and have a low priority que because of this.

Yeah, because we fucking love getting a player that gets into the match 3-5 mins late. That doesn't put us at a tremendous disadvantage when our afk gets to lane while being level 1 and his lane opponent is level 3-4. if you get consistent crashes quit playing the fucking game or get a new computer. If you are poor thats on you, we shouldn't be punished for your issues.

Ok maybe 3-5 is a little excessive but you get the point. It wasnt this account i was talking about specifically. Socioeconomic status is not my issue, It was a driver conflict that has been resolved. And don't act as if you have never had your internet go out on you for whatever reason or a blue screen of death. The time i speak of i would have been back in the game and only missed possibly 1 wave of minions so level 3-4 is an exaggeration and with the catch up mechanics of experience that would not be a an issue man.

Edit: Also you say "its even ranked you do this in" as if I was joining a game with the intention of not playing it.

You said 3-5 mins, getting into the game 3 minutes late is about 2-3 full waves you would miss out on in gold and exp. 4-5 mins and you'd definitely be down a lot in levels. The catch up mechanic won't catch you up fast enough when you are getting zoned by a much much much much stronger opponent.

I have had my internet go out, but it's rare as hell, like one single time a month or not at all some months. Years ago when I had issues with my computer I immediately got a new one because I acknowledged how badly sticking with the faulty one would put my team behind. If you knew you were having issues and still qued up for ranked thats a slap in the face to your teammates. It doesn't matter if it was your intention or not, you should at least straight up avoid ranked until the issues are resolved.

At patch V6.12 Riot introduced a command called /remake that interrupts the game as a tie if a player either disconnects or does not connect at all
