Idea to Change How We Queue to Make It Simple and faster.

I was thinking today how I normally choose ADC and Jungle every game unless I want a short queue time (in which case I will play support). But what I realized is that I didn't really mind what role I played between ADC and Jungle I just wanted to play the role that will get me to Que up faster. I also would have been perfectly okay playing TOP and MID but I would prefer ADC and Jungle more.

My thought process was this. What if we changed the Queue system so you put a rating next to every role. The rating will be a number between 0-10 and it would be a rating on how much we would like to play this role. This would allow Queue times to be lower because you could put a number next to very role if you wanted to or only have a number next to one. This would mean that 1 would be high priority and 10 would be low with 0 being that you don't want the role.

An Example of an ADC main would be:

Top: 0 Jungle: 0 Mid: 0 ADC: 1 Support: 0

This person would only be able to Queue up as an ADC but they are trading that for a longer queue time. The longer queue time then becomes their choise.

An example of someone who is diverse would be:

Top: 4 Jungle: 7 Mid: 1 ADC: 5 Support: 6

This person would be trading a priority lane for a short Queue time.

An Example for someone who prioritzes 2 roles would be:

Top: 0 Jungle: 1 Mid: 1 ADC: 0 Support: 0

These examples are to show how someone might Queue up. This would allow for the players to essitentially chose there role and Queue time.

If i want a short Queue time I can "fill" but putting 1 for every role. If i want to only play ADC then I have that choice. This puts the power in the player.

The rating number serves a purpose. The 1 number means that before 1 minute it will only matchmake that role. 2 means before 2 means and so on so forth. One role will always have to be a won but you can have as many other roles at any number. You could have 3 1's or even 5 but you could also split is up and have a variety.

Example:

Top: 5 Jungle: 1 Mid: 1 ADC: 5 Support: 10

This would be an example of someone who would prefer Mid and Jungle but is willing to support if the Queue time becomes long enough.

Top: 0 Jungle: 5 Mid: 1 ADC: 3 Support: 0

This is an example of a Mid main who is willing to play ADC and Jungle should the Queue time become long enough. This gives players the options to allow for up to 5 roles and although I have allowed there to be a minimum of 1 role the minimum role number could stay at 2. This would mean 2 roles would have to have a rating of one.

This concept is an interesting on because it allows for the player to chose their own queue time and the roles they want in the way they want it. Although it would mean that the correct system would have be rewritten and changed I feel like this would be an idea worth exploring.

Several games have put an estimated timer by different roles when queuing for groups. I don't see why League can't just do the same thing and put an estimated time next to a role.

The other option of course would be to make supports fun to play and then queue times across the board would drop a solid 50% or better.
