Confused about an client crash penalties.

So if someone could clear things up for me, I was in a game when my league of legends client had crashed and I had to re log into the game(ranked) after about 10 minutes. Upon re-logging into the game i got a notification about being an AFK. We ended up winning the game with me catching up and still able to make plays against the opposing team. After honoring my teammates I was given a D- even though my score was positive and a loss of LP. I don't understand why I lost LP even though it was a league client crash and its a bit upsetting even though this is not my fault. Is there a way I could get my LP back and not suffer honor level penalties for something out of my control?
